Aerotek Lab Technician in Arvada, Colorado
Aerotek Scientific is actively recruiting for multiple Lab Technician opportunities for a lab in Arvada, CO. The Lab Technician performs environmental analyses and/or preps samples using standard analytical techniques in compliance with Quality Assurance programs and standard operating procedures.
Adherence to health and safety guidelines as appropriate to job function
Perform routine lab tasks that provide experience and familiarization with methods, practices, and programs to include:
Preparation of samples using standard techniques
Performing chemical analysis using standard techniques
Calculating data
Recording and reporting data and any unusual test occurrences to supervisor
Performing routine maintenance of instruments
Conforming to lab QA/QC practices
Responsible for general housekeeping in work area
Ability to learn and operate complex instrumentation including, but not limited to, gas chromatography, gas chromatography/mass spectrometry, atomic absorption, ICP, and instrument specific data systems
Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry or related field. 8 years laboratory experience may substitute for degree.
Prior laboratory experience a plus
Prior production-oriented experience helpful as it relates to ability to meet deadlines
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of scientific methods and method compliance
Knowledge of analytical and/or general science
Strong mathematical aptitude
Knowledge of general laboratory procedures
Knowledge of laboratory safety rules and chemical hazards
