Cyber Security Engineer V job in Aurora, Colorado is available with one of GeoLogics top Intelligence and Space clients in support of the U.S. Air Force North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) Cheyenne Mountain Complex Integrated Tactical Warning/Attack Assessment (NCMC-ITW/AA) Sustained Support Contract (NISSC). This position provides cybersecurity engineering support to the SW18.2 and SW20 Delivery Orders.
Cybersecurity engineering activities include assessment of proposed/rendered technical solutions (for up to 23 systems of record that comprise the NISSC mission system portfolio) against the established NISSC and cyber architecture(s), compliance validation of proper system lockdowns for the approved solution post regression testing and preparation for deployment to the field.
Duties/tasks are dependent on the AGILE Increment established objectives.
Currently SW20 is in AGILE Increment 2, with emphasis on development/architect and implementation of enterprise ACAS, Multi-factor authentication solutions for the entire NISSC portfolio).
Planning, scheduling, and executing Assessment & Authorization (A&A) activities
Security compliance & vulnerability scanning/remediation across multiple platforms and networks
Applying knowledge of current IA policies as a contributor to the architecture and design of secure solutions to customer needs and requirements
Performing hands-on technical implementation of security solutions comprised of COTS & FOSS as well as custom-developed products
Preparing for, writing, and presenting trade studies, cost benefit analyses, reports and briefings as needed
Must be a U.S. CITIZEN with a current DoD Secret security clearance
Bachelor's degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) discipline with 8+ years of experience or a Master's degree in a STEM discipline with 6+ years of experience or 16 years of experience in lieu of a degree.
8 years of developing cyber security solutions, Security Authorization requirements, and security policy and emerging cyber security technologies for Department of Defense (DoD) or similar federal agency
Experience with cyber security engineering projects and programs for U.S. Government and/or commercial clients.
Strong understanding of security design and architecture with ability to develop solutions to moderately complex IS compliance and security problems
Hands-on technical experience as an individual contributor with documentation skills and experience in some of the following areas: Operating system hardening, Assessment and Authorization (NIST SP800-37, ICD 503) and developing System Security Plans (SSPs) and all supporting assessment and authorization documentation
Experience performing vulnerability assessment/remediation including the coordination or performance of patch/configuration deployments across multiple platforms
Security Certification in accordance to DoD 8570.01 IAT-II or higher (e.g. Security+ CE, SSCP, etc.; CISSP is preferable)
Experience with systems engineering V-model process, life-cycle management, & engineering change proposal processes
Experience planning, scheduling, and executing Assessment & Authorization (A&A) activities, including the development of System Security Plans (SSP) and other supporting documentation (SP800-37, ICD503 preferred)
Experience and knowledge in onboarding, tuning and implementing enterprise security solutions (e.g. Tenable Security Center and Nessus, RSA NetWitness Security Analytics, and the DoD’s HBSS solution)
COTS and FOSS patch management/deployment experience
Previous experience in Verification and Validation, and Assessment and Authorization
Experience with IBM Rational Team Concert (RTC) is highly desired.
Experience in proactively analyzing and resolving problems relating to operational considerations, engineering drawings and associated hardware in relation to repair activities
