Oracle Director of Product Management - Cloud Engineering Infrastructure Development in Aurora, Colorado

Manage a team that acts as the central resource and driving force for the design, process, manufacturing, test, quality and marketing of product(s) as they move from conception to distribution. Organize interdepartmental activities ensuring completion of the project/product on schedule and within budget.

As a Director in the product development division, you will lead a team that defines product specifications and or strategy. Gather and analyze information to define product specifications and review design specifications. Envision and communicate product strategy and functionality. Initiate and foster relationships with other groups. Review product documentation and collateral. Ensure successful product releases based on corporate priorities.

Assists in the development of short, medium, and long term plans to achieve strategic objectives. Regularly interacts across functional areas with senior management or executives to ensure unit objectives are met. The ability to influence thinking or gain acceptance of others in sensitive situations is important. Demonstrated leadership and people management skills. Strong communication skills, analytical skills, thorough understanding of product development and product management. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 8 of software engineering or related experience preferred.

This is a remote/office based position which may be performed anywhere in the United States except for within the state of Colorado.

In this role, you will be responsible for conceiving and developing new features forInfrastructure-as-a-Service technologies that operate at high scale in a broadly distributed multi-tenant cloud environment

As a member of the product development team, you will identify customer requirements, do competitive/market analysis, set product direction and define specifications.

You will lead and coordinate efforts between cross-functional teams to develop best-in-class capabilities. You will be expected to assess appropriate trade-offs to optimize customer experience, time-to-market, and to clearly communicate goals, roles, responsibilities, and desired outcomes to internal stakeholders and remote teams.

The right candidate will possess a strongProduct Managementbackground, an ability to work backwards from the customers and will have experience launching multiple customer-facing products and features. You must be able to thrive and succeed in an entrepreneurial environment, and not be hindered by ambiguity or competing priorities. This means you are not only able to develop and drive high-level strategic initiatives, but can also roll up your sleeves, dig in and get the job done. Maturity, strong business judgment, a customer-centric mindset, negotiation skills, ability to influence and analytical talent are essential to succeed in this role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • 15 years of experience as hands-on product manager for customer facing product

  • Team leadership experience with managing direct reports

  • Define and prioritize product features and functions

  • Drive operational and technical solution development to support implementation of desired features and functions

  • Develop business requirements and user stories to provide design and development direction to Dev teams

  • Collaborate with Dev, QA and documentations teams to iterate and refine designs

  • Define, measure and manage customer experience and business performance metrics for stakeholders

  • Proactively identify and resolve risks and issues that may dent team’s ability to execute

  • Work with customers, partners, sales, support teams to ensure successful product adoption by customers

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related discipline

  • 10 years of experience as hands-on product manager for customer facing product

  • Attention to detail and proven ability to manage multiple competing priorities simultaneously

  • Ability to think both strategically and tactically in a high-energy, fast paced environment

  • Big Data platform experience with structured and unstructured data

  • Experience with relational and NoSQL databases

  • Experience with Massively Parallel Processing systems

  • Experience with technologies like high availability, backup/recovery, disaster/recovery

Preferred Qualifications:

  • MBA

  • Experience in Internet scale applications

  • Experience in designing and launching cloud products

  • Experience with Application integration technologies like process orchestration, workflow, API gateways, service bus
