Who are we looking for?

Qualifications/Requirements

•Bachelor’s degree

•At least 5 years of manufacturing chemistry lab work experience

•At least 3 years in a people management role

Skills and Abilities

•Attentive to details and accuracy

•Ability to work with limited supervision, independently or within a team environment

•Proficient computer skills and good working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, Power-point) and general database usage

•Experience in Lean Manufacturing environment

•Experience with using root cause analysis and Lean Six Sigma tools for process improvement and waste reduction

•Proven ability to implement and enforce process improvement initiatives

•Strong decision-making skills

•Excellent verbal and written communication skills

•Detail oriented and highly organized with excellent follow-up practices

•Ability to supervise hourly team members and interact with all levels of management to maintain a positive and productive work environment

•Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to manage and coach team members

•Proven problem solving and organizational skills

•Ability to flourish in a fast-paced and diverse work environment.

What will you be doing?

This position will have overall responsibility for leading and directing all consumables manufacturing; including the laboratory production team (Chemists and Assemblers), Chemical and Vial packaging team and the Instrument Consumables assembly team. This role will be a key member of our supply chain team, reporting directly to the Sr. Operations Manager.

Primary responsibility will be ensuring the safe, on-time production of high-quality products in a cost-efficient fashion and developing long-term strategies for optimization/automation of manufacturing operations in concert with company objectives. This role also requires oversight and leadership, supporting production in accordance with all employee safety guidelines, quality standards, production schedules, delivery, cash, cost, and expense budgets.

Essential Functions/Responsibilities

•Oversee manufacturing of reagents and consumables following manufacturing standard operating procedures

•Lead transfer of new products from Development to Manufacturing and production optimization activities

•Support planned process development, scale-up, and verification/validation activities in assigned manufacturing areas

•Control and maintain inventory of reagent materials in formulation lab

•Ensure a safe working environment and that personnel work in a safe manner

•Supervise and assist employees including; assigning and directing work, investigating incidents & issues, effectively resolving conflict

•Proven ability and experience in building highly effective teams with accountability

•Develop talent within the existing team and ensure training is complete and effective

•Use root cause analysis tools to identify preventative and corrective actions to eliminate problems

•Recommends measures to improve quality of service, increase efficiency of department, work crews and equipment performance

•Pro-actively confers with other supervisors to coordinate activities between departments and serve internal customers

•Meet functional responsibilities by effectively interacting with Maintenance, Quality Assurance, Human Resources, Material Handling and Finance departments

•Support all regulations, policies, procedures, and work rules

•Performs other related duties as required and assigned
