Northrop Grumman Space Systems is looking for a Principle Software Engineer to support ourMissle Defense Solutionsoperationsat our Boulder, Colorado facilities

Job Duties:

  • Designs, develops, documents, tests and debugs applications software and systems that contain logical and mathematical solutions.

  • Conducts multidisciplinary research and collaborates with equipment designers and/or hardware engineers in the planning, design, development, and utilization of electronic data processing systems for product and commercial software.

  • Determines computer user needs; analyzes system capabilities to resolve problems on program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques and controls; prepares operating instructions; designs and develops compilers and assemblers, utility programs, and operating systems.

  • Ensures software standards are met.

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related Engineering/Science degree; 5 years of related experience

  • Experience with Java or C/C++ software language, development tools, and integrated development environments (IDEs)

  • SW algorithm development experience for complex, mathematically intensive systems

  • DoD Secret clearance that is or has been active within the last two years

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD TS/SCI clearance

  • Ability to travel on occasion to Northrop Grumman and customer locations

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Agile development

  • Ground systems experience in mission processing, ground communications, and space operations

  • Experience in the numerical implementation of motion filters.

  • Familiarity with Overhead Persistent Infrared (OPIR) and Electro-Optical Infrared (EOIR) sensors and simulations

  • Linux experience

  • Experience with model-based engineering

  • Knowledge of STK or MATLAB

  • Some MySQL and Database knowledge desired

  • DoD TS/SCI clearance that is or has been active within the last two years

Salary Minimum for Colorado location: $101,200

Salary Maximum for Colorado location: $151,800

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results.
