We are seeking a Software Engineer to join the Space Based InfraRed System (SBIRS) Software Engineering organization. The Software Engineer Asc will contribute to the ground system software development efforts. The selected candidate will participate in software development and maintenance efforts. He/she will work collaboratively with other development team members and management to develop and maintain software using programing languages and technologies such as: C++, Java, Python, SQL in Linux and MS Windows environments. Tasks Include: - Use of software development life cycle methods to develop, build, test, and deploy specified software utilizing programming languages and scripting - Generating work products such as basic usage scenarios and sketches/models, prototypes, and architecture and design documentation if/as pertinent - Executing development, integration, unit/integration test and deployment of software products/components independently and/or in cooperation with the software development team
Acceptable degree programs will include only science and technology related programs such as Computer Science, Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, etc.
Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information, including US Citizenship.
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to perform tasks with motivation and enthusiasm
- Must be a self-starter
- Experience in software development, integration/build, scripting, and configuration management
- Knowledgeable in web and database concepts and architectures.
- Familiarity with Git, Maven, Linux, LDAP, Jenkins, Agile, and/or Continuous Integration / Continuous Deployment
