The Mountain Operations Assistant is responsible for maintaining all aspects of our on-mountain kids trails and Ski & Snowboard School facilities. The Mountain Operations Assistant will assist in keeping maintenance logs for each attraction as well as communicate opening and closing times for trails and race hills to the Mountain Operations team and Ski School Children Managers and Supervisors. The successful incumbent must be willing and able to hand-shovel snow in extreme winter weather conditions for extended periods. This position is responsible for cleanliness of on-mountain facilities, including restrooms. Must have a valid driver's license and able to pass a vehicle/snowmobile driving check.
Responsibilities Include (but are not limited to):
Daily grooming of kids trails
Maintenance of all padding, fencing and signs on trails and race areas using best practice guidelines
Installation and maintenance of Ski & Snowboard School park features
Snowmobile supportfor on-mountain projects, maintenance and guest assistance
Snow shoveling entry ways of the learning area and magic carpet belts
Ability to safely operate authorized vehicles
Keeping accurate maintenance logs for all attractions
Responsible for cleanliness of on-mountain facilities including restrooms
Must be able to work outdoors in adverse conditions
Other duties as assigned
Job Requirements:
Ability to lift up to, and sometimes more than, 50lbs - required.
Ability to stand outside in all weather conditions, for 8+ hours per day - required.
Ability to ski outside in all weather conditions, for 8+ hours per day - required.
Valid U.S. Driver's license - required.
Ability to work with power tools (cordless drills, etc.) - required.
High school diploma - required.
Racecourse operations - preferred.
Valid U.S. Driver's License, USSA official’s license - preferred.
Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English - required.Intermediate or higher skiing ability - required.
Racing Background - preferred
Must be able to work weekends, evenings, and holidays - required.
Ability to operate a snowmobile (need a valid driver's license) - preferred.
The budgeted range starts at 12.32 - 14. Actual pay will be adjusted based on experience.
