Reporting to the Procurement Operations Manager, the Procurement Operations Analyst role will be responsible for effectively partnering with cross-functional stakeholders in order to drive seamless process flow in support of day-to-day purchasing activities. Stakeholders consist primarily of our remote purchasing user base, Accounts Payable, Procurement Technology, and Strategic Sourcing. This position will be required to identify and manage process improvement projects in order to drive efficiencies in the purchasing process. This individual is responsible for managing supplier and user compliance by identifying, developing, and instituting best practices in order to create an effective and efficient purchasing and payment process for Procurement and across Vail Resorts. Procurement Operations team members are responsible for partnering with and providing insight and solutions to partners across the Procurement team, helping to ensure the system is configured to promote policy compliance and adherence to Procure-to-Pay (P2P) processes and strategic supplier programs.

Job Responsibilities

  • Serve as a subject matter expert in the Vail Resorts P2P system (Coupa) and processes including requisition creation, post-order management, inventory, and invoice payment

  • Focus on internal customer satisfaction by providing scalable solutions to customer inquiries, issues, and supplemental training needs

  • Serve as a point of operational support and escalation, including assisting the Accounts Payable team by providing advanced system usage troubleshooting

  • Leverage a strong working relationship with the Procurement Technology team to ensure alignment on system-focused improvements, initiatives, and software upgrades

  • Partner with Strategic Sourcing to support category strategies and supplier relationships from a system, process, and policy compliance perspective

  • Develop an expert-level understanding of category-specific strategies, including supplier capabilities and Coupa user landscape

  • Provide Coupa user behavior insight and process recommendations to ensure adherence to purchasing programs

  • Proactively identify technology and process requirements during supplier discovery and contracting phases

  • Perform data-driven root cause analysis to drive process compliance improvements across the P2P function with minimal manager direction

  • Coordinate with corporate-wide, cross-functional teams to address the need for changes to processes, policies, and procedures

Job Requirements


  • 1-2 years relevant work experience

  • Experience with process documentation and/or process improvement

  • Aptitude for learning technologies and systems

  • Strong knowledge of MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint etc.)

  • Ability to work autonomously balancing multiple projects while providing a high level of customer support

  • Ability to demonstrate learning agility and thought-leadership as business needs change and increase in complexity

  • Curious, with a passion for understanding “the why” in order to continuously improve

  • Analytical skills, project management skills, and strong verbal and written communication


  • Exposure to Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Strategic Sourcing, or related fields preferred

  • B.A. or B.S. in Business, Finance, Supply-Chain, Economics, or related field; relevant work experience also accepted in lieu of education requirements
