The VMware Worldwide Readiness and Customer Education (WWRACE) GSS Technical Education (GTE) team delivers technical training for our customers, partners, and Global Support Services (GSS) engineers to effectively support VMware customers. The team provides highly technical enablement for all major product releases and collaborates with various internal business units. The WWRACE GTE team is a global team and has members across U.S.A, Cork (Ireland), Bangalore (India) and Costa Rica.

The WWRACE GTE team members are passionate about VMware technology and are excited about training. Our vision is to deliver hands-on training that enables GSS support engineers to easily apply the skills they acquire in their roles.

As a Technical Instructor, you will be delivering high-quality VMware technical training as part of the VMware Worldwide Readiness, Assessment, Certification and Education (WWRACE) team. A technical training professional and skilled communicator, you will bring your passion for VMware technologies and industry experience to your classes. You will be comfortable delivering both in-person and online and have the ability to quickly digest complex technical concepts and convey them to an audience in a clear and engaging manner.

Responsibilities:

Technical Instruction

  • Provide world-class training to Global Support Services (GSS) Technical Support Engineers in classroom and live online formats.

  • Deliver complex training on advanced concepts, such as troubleshooting, architecture and design and advanced infrastructure principles

  • Deliver a new hire training curriculum to assist in the onboarding of new Global Support engineers, and provide feedback to stakeholders on any modifications that may be required to the curriculum to cater for the audience

  • Share the classroom feedback with course developers to improve the future content.

  • Collaborate with content development to develop the advanced curriculum, depending upon the class feedback.

  • Manage training sessions effectively, addressing any issues that arise and ensuring the class stays on track with the intended agenda.

  • Maintain accurate records and ensure that students provide feedback.

  • Communicate effectively with attendees before, during and after delivery.

  • Adapt training delivery to incorporate new methodologies, tools, and processes.

Ongoing Instructor Development

  • Proactively remain current on VMware’s product and training portfolio.

  • Continually develop professional skills, including soft skills and those related to VMware technology.

Required Skills:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required, preferably in Business, Communications or Technology.

  • VMware Certified Professional (VCP) mandatory.

  • VMware Certified Instructor (VCI) strongly preferred.

  • 5+ years relevant Information Technology industry experience.

  • 4+ years experience in a technical instructor role, delivering highly technical material relating to virtualization, cloud, operating systems, networking & storage.

  • Knowledge of public clouds, cloud native applications and platforms, tools and processes.

  • Ability to write scripts, workflows, and simple programs.

  • A strong communicator, both written and verbal, with strong professional presentation experience.

  • Proven ability to effectively communicate and demonstrate complex technical concepts to audiences of various sizes.

  • Able to manage multiple tasks and projects while maintaining short response and resolution times.

  • Proven ability to work in dynamic work environments and deliver results with limited supervision.

  • Ability and willingness to travel on occasion as needed

  • Perform other tasks, roles and responsibilities, as required.
