Job Summary

We are looking for a motivated Software Developer to be responsible for all stages of the application lifecycle for the Digital team at Vail Resorts. Directly supporting our digital products and services across consumer-facing web, mobile, mobile app, ecommerce and the boarder marketing technology space; the ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills with the ability to work in an agile, team-oriented environment. Reporting to the Senior Development Manager, this individual will leverage modern coding techniques using Microsoft .NET MVC to deliver efficient and scalable functionality to applications supporting our digital products and services throughout the marketing technology ecosystem. Further, the senior software developer will recommend and guide architectural solutions to the digital development team, providing lead developer support on new projects, supplement maintenance efforts, and regularly review developer code for consistency.

Job Responsibilities

  • Drive new functionality through architecture recommendations.

  • Create, maintain, and enhance features within a robust CMS.

  • Partner with stakeholders to deliver application requirements across all functional business units including online marketing, season pass and ticket sales, ski lessons, lodging reservations, account management, and more.

  • Coordinate release notes and ensure a quality release management process.

  • Write and update unit tests to ensure code coverage.

  • Mentor junior software developers.

  • Troubleshoot issues and prototype technical solutions.

  • Develop and analyze load and performance tests.

  • Maintain and create documentation for Application features and processes.


  • 6+ years of software development experience

  • Microsoft Technologies

  • Experience developing and consuming a RESTful API.

  • Experience in delivering solutions for a content management system, preferably Sitecore.

  • Experience developing with SOA and OWASP security principles.

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft IIS and server technologies.

  • Understanding of SQL and Server Databases.

  • Familiar with source control technologies, specifically Git.

  • Review code for bugs, performance enhancements, maintainability.

Nice to HaveSkills

  • Knowledge of testing automation technologies.

  • Working knowledge of web frameworks like jQuery and Bootstrap.

  • Native mobile app development experience

  • Experience testing code for PCI compliance.

  • Experience with third-party APIs.

  • Experience with NLP and conversational AI.

  • Experience developing responsive pages for a variety of screen sizes.
