Our Technical Services Department is seeking a Technician to work at the Castle Rock Broadcast Center located in Castle Rock, CO. You will work closely with the Technical Operations Center to identify problems in specific markets/channels and restore the on air broadcast. Our customer satisfaction relies on keeping programming on air and this cannot be done without you. Within the first 6 months, you will be working toward mastering the core competencies of our department. You will continue to develop your skills by fulfilling JQR’s (Job Qualifications Requirements) and Core Competencies, throughout your career with AT&T. Our environment offers the best of both worlds we are a strong team and rely on each other, but much of the work is performed independently.

Responsibilities:

The successful Broadcast Systems candidate will be responsible for the following:

  • Provide 24x7 hands‐on Tier 1/Tier-2 support to the on‐air operations MPEG Video Transport and RF-Antenna Systems

  • Provide 24x7 hands-on Tier-1/Tier-2 support of the Monitor & Controlapplications environment. To restore functionality including performing follow‐up and assisting with troubleshooting, diagnostics, configuration, and replacement of broadcast servers, applications, and software.

  • Identify, track, and resolve current and potential faults within on‐air UTPS Transport and nCC Compression control servers and applications environments with an understanding of the various broadcast devices in the signal path.

  • Install, provision, diagnose, patch, update and maintain all M&C Systems (Monitor and Control) servers and their respective applications.

  • Assist with system testing and validation of M&C server and applications environment maintenance releases & security, as well as testing and verification of subsystem components to support the launching of new services and features.

  • Manage software/applications. examples including but not limited to: Raritan, Active Directory, RHEL, Microsoft Server, Antivirus Client‐Server, and other third-party applications.

  • Ability to review, digest, and absorb information associated with AT&T Core Competencies and Basic Qualifications requirements. Meet and/or exceed Associate level competencies within a prescribed time period.

  • Assist with projects including the planning, implementation, procedures and documentation.

  • Provide information to management of ongoing issues, project activities, including the use of Remedy based ticketing systems for reporting and tracking.

  • Participate in daily department meetings, interact with, and support other departments as needed.

  • Perform other various duties as assigned on Ad‐Hoc basis.

  • Perform routine maintenance on various subsystems.

  • Summarize and Present Technical information in both verbal and written form Assist in project research, design, planning, implementation, procedure documentation and training.

  • Associates degree, certificate or specialized training in Computer Science, Information Technology,

  • Solid analytical and problem solving skills, good oral and written communication skills.

  • Must have the ability to work in a dynamic, fast paced environment with changing priorities.

  • Must possess a solid understanding of computer networking services and protocols. Ability to distinguish between production and Admin systems. Ability to configure a server with a basic network image, NIC configuration, and establish network connectivity.

  • Hands‐on experience should include a strong background in troubleshooting and analyzing issues within a 24x7 broadcast environment or Technical Operations Center (TOC).

  • Must have the ability to work in a fast‐paced environment with changing priorities.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience administering, maintaining, troubleshooting, and configuring various operating systems in a Linux (RHEL preferred) and Windows Server environments.

  • Knowledge of VM/V‐Sphere environments or willingness to learn new Virtualized Technology

  • Knowledge of analog/digital video and audio baseband signals in broadcast environment is a plus.

  • Knowledge with incident and change management processes (ITILv3) and other management systems, such as Remedy Incident Ticketing, SharePoint, and Synergis Adept.

  • Experience installing new equipment, interpreting wiring diagrams and working with engineers to test and integrate new systems.

  • Good written and verbal communication, problem‐solving and analytical abilities.

Special Requirements:

  • The Castle Rock Broadcast Center is a 24x7 facility that requires the ability to work various shifts, including holidays and overtime.

  • Must have a valid state driver’s license with no restrictions. Must have a negative pre-employment drug test. Criminal and MVR background must meet company hiring criteria.

  • Minimal travel via commercial airline required on occasion (<15% travel)

  • All candidates must be able to lift 30 to 40 pounds.

  • Ability to climb external antenna system ladders and work at heights up to 30 ft.

  • Dexterity to work in confined spaces down to 16 cubic ft. Ability to work outside in inclement weather.
