SUMMARY:The Director of Product Assurance is responsible for Product/QualityAssurance (PA/QA) at the business area level. The director plans andcoordinates continuous improvement initiatives to ensure consistent executionof processes within their business area location(s), align with otherbusiness areas as appropriate, and compliance to required standards.Working with functional management, the director formulates and maintainsPA/QA specific objectives, polices, and QMS processes to support thebusiness area vision and goals. The director Investigates and resolvescompliance problems, questions, or complaints received from within thecompany, customers, government regulatory agencies, etc. The directoralso supervises or advises personnel in the business area to assure effectivecompletion of all initiatives, encourage risk-based thinking, complianceto existing processes, and awareness of customer requirements and expectationsThe Director of Product Assurance has the responsibility and authority forestablishing, implementing, maintaining, and reporting on processes for:Establishes quality and reliability standards by studying product and consumerrequirements with other members of management and with production operators,technicians, and engineers.Establishes Supplier standards and Quality by studying manufacturing andengineering requirements; conferring and negotiating with suppliers;devising testing methods and procedures and manages the Approved Vendors List.Establishes in-process product inspection standards by studying manufacturingmethods; devising testing methods and procedures.Establishes standards for the disposition of finished product by devisingevaluation tests, methods, and procedures.
