We have an exciting opportunity for a Space Systems Test Technician to join our team located in Centennial, Colorado.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • The Space Systems Test Technician has a broad knowledge base spanning from advanced electronics and test instrumentation to mechanical assembly.

  • Build and maintains supporting equipment necessary for the operation and testing of PWA’s and sub-assemblies.

  • Operates equipment to perform tests and capable of troubleshooting and repair of systems by utilizing power supplies, digital volt meters, chart recorders and oscilloscopes as necessary.

  • Assist Space System Test Engineers with the execution and validation of test procedures of PWA’s and or sub-assemblies. Documenting results in a clear precise and complete manner.

  • Utilize development boards and/or breadboards to prove out circuit designs.

  • Soldering skills and high quality workmanship. Must be able to rework fine-pitch surface mount components.

  • Responsible for some preventative maintenance activities on test equipment and data acquisition systems.

  • Maintains systems; implements modifications and engineering changes as necessary.

  • Identifies operation or equipment problems and reports deficiencies.

  • Provides and trains lower level technicians in work area.

  • Responsible for observing all laws, regulations, and other applicable obligations wherever and whenever business is conducted on behalf of the Company. Expected to work in a safe manner in accordance with established operating procedures and practices.

  • May travel to support other company sites as required.

  • Performs other duties as assigned or required for the purpose of ensuring and effective and efficient work environment.

Full-Time/Part-Time: Full-Time Hourly

Job Qualifications:

  • Typically requires associate's degree or equivalent with nine or more years of experience. May substitute equivalent experience in lieu of education.

  • Experience in space, aviation, military or other high-reliability operating environments is highly desirable.

  • Familiarity with the creation and interpretation of electronic schematics, bills of material, test procedures, PCB design documentation, etc.

  • The ideal candidate should have demonstrated experience and strong electrical background in the testing of PWA’s and Sub-assemblies of satellite or other space systems.

  • Knowledge of pressure, thermal vacuum temperature and flow measurement devices, mechanical and electrical

  • Understands spacecraft and flight hardware handling including ESD and clean room requirements.

  • Ability to train and lead others. Proficient in computer operations and applications pertinent to the field.

  • Analytical ability to interpret detailed instructions, drawings and specifications. Competencies to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw conclusions.

  • Ability to diagnose complex mechanical/electrical problems and find effective solutions. Communication skills necessary to write and record precise information and submit reports. Special skills and expertise to use complex equipment or experimental techniques.

  • IPC620 and J-standard-001 (with space addendum) certification is preferred.

  • Ability to work both independently and in a team environment is essential as is the ability to work extended hours as required.

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DOD security clearance is required.

  • US Citizenship is required.

Each job has a salary range which identifies the minimum, midpoint (market) and maximum base pay for the job. Pay rates are established based on the individual's knowledge, skill, experience and education/training needed to perform the job. The salary range for this position is $70,143 - $101,708.
