The Boeing Company Full Stack Software Engineer - Space Command and Control in Colorado Springs, Colorado

Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) Space Command and Control (SC2) program in Colorado Springs, CO is growing and seeking an experienced mid-career Full Stack Software Engineer to support the development of our Nation’s newest systems to support Battle Management Command, Control, and Communications (BMC3) programs.

Position Responsibilities:

The Full Stack Software Engineer will be responsible for developing innovative technology in an agile environment with multiple long-term projects needing support. We seek candidates who have advanced skills in software development and want to bring their skills to the next level through mentoring and hands-on development which include requirements development, understanding design implementation and writing the code supporting actual satellite operations.

Focus areas include:

  • Product line leadership

  • Agile software development

  • Spacecraft modeling and optimization algorithm design and implementation

  • Data analytics and machine learning

The qualified Full Stack Software Engineer should be proficient in either Java, JavaScript, or C++ and have prior experience working within integrated development environments. That experience should include items such as software design, development, debugging, and performing software integration and test of various technologies.

Work Authorization:

This position requires an active U.S. Secret Security Clearance (US Citizenship required), with the ability to obtain a Top Secret / Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) Security Clearance (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active).

The position is contingent on clearance verification and customer concurrence.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Active Secret security clearance or higher, with the ability to obtain a Top Secret / Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) security clearance (post-start)

  • Bachelor's, Master's or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry

  • Experience with Agile software development

  • Experience with modeling and optimization algorithm design and implementation

  • Experience working in an Agile Environment utilizing Atlassian Suite (Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket, etc.)

  • Proficient in either Java, JavaScript, or C++ Experience working within integrated development environments

  • Experience with software design, development, debugging, and performing software integration and test

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Existing Top Secret / Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) security clearance

  • Agile Certifications (SAFe, CSM, etc.)

  • Experience delivering within a Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipeline

  • Experience with DevOps or DevSecOps

  • Experience with Spacecraft modeling and optimization algorithm design and implementation

  • Experience with data analytics and machine learning

Typical Education/Experience:

Typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Relocation:

Colorado summary pay range: Min: 80,000 – Max: 133,000.
