Verizon Maintenance Engineering Analyst Military Fellowship in Colorado Springs, Colorado
What you’ll be doing...
This opportunity is for Military personnel who are current participants of Hiring Our Heroes Corporate Fellowship Program Cohort 1-2021.
This position supports the Maintenance Engineering Lab, the individual should be a self-starter who can work with minimal supervision. Primary responsibilities includes working within Tableau where you will be pulling data from numerous admin and network tools to find key insights that drive the business forward. This consists of software administration and performance measurement. Additionally you work within Jira and Confluence to improve the Lab's operational efficiency and effectiveness.
You will be ensuring that analytics drive continuous business improvements, bringing growth that is more profitable and improving the user experience. You will define the specific process and procedures based on an analytics strategy and champion that strategy across Maintenance Engineering, in order to create buy-in for data-driven decision-making. You will be an administrator for agile and data analytics tools. You will be recommending improvements that will go straight to the bottom line, by helping us improve lab process and procedures for lab customers.

You’ll need to have:
Must be a current participant of Hiring our Heroes Corporate Fellowship Program Cohort 1-2021
Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
Experience with Data Analytics
Even better if you have:
Degree in mathematics, statistics, physics, engineering, computer science, economics, or 6 or more years of related experience.
Project Management experience.
Data Analytics Certifications.
Experience in high priority outage situations in regards to communication and sending notifications.
Ability to prioritize projects to fit into business goals.
Experience in creating Business Case(s) with an emphasis on cases with primarily capital components.
Experience with methods & procedures (design & implementation) and performance measurement(s) (design & analysis).
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
JIRA, Confluence, Excel, and Tableau experience.
Demonstrated leadership, team building, and interpersonal skills.
Strong organizational, development and problem-solving abilities.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Strong understanding of database concepts (Oracle, MS SQL, generic SQL, etc.)
Strong understanding of data warehouse and data lake technology (Teradata, Hadoop).
Experience with Tableau or similar visual analysis tool, optimization, analytics and large data sets, project management, developing visually compelling interactive dashboards.
Training Instructor Experience.
Experience in inventory with shipping and receiving knowledge.
Experience in software data migration.
Making changes in Jira and Confluence for other team members and groups.
Collaborating with others to understand business challenges then driving the adoption of analytics in decision-making.
Designing creative approaches to uncover the biggest opportunities for cost and time savings then building business cases and translating findings into practical business implications.
Working closely with Cross Functional Teams (i.e. Planning, Maintenance Engineering, and Production) and collaborating on optimal solutions for current and future projects.
Detecting and resolving issues in a proactive manner before they impact the platform and/or lab users.
