Nature of the work:

  • Installing underground or overhead electrical lines by laying pipe, pulling wire, and setting meters

  • Constructing, maintaining, and testing electrical systems and related equipment

  • Repairing, maintaining, and troubleshooting street light systems, poles, luminaries, and circuits

  • Switching or rerouting electrical systems using proper sequencing and connections

  • Assuring compliance with safety standards and work practices

  • Operating line construction vehicles and equipment including wire-pullers, bucket and boom trucks, and various hand tools

  • Preparing materials for line construction and charging materials to appropriate job

  • Logging completed work orders and preparing reports

  • Assisting in training Line Technician apprentices

  • Complying with the safety and health program in support of an incident and injury-free workplace

The successful candidate will be subject to working in adverse work and weather conditions and is subject to overtime and standby hours.

What you’ll bring to the table:

Qualified candidates will have completed a certified Power Line Technician Apprenticeship program and have a valid CDL Class A driver’s license. The ideal candidate will also have at least two years of experience working as a journey-level technician.
