Position Description

What does a great Application Specialist do?

As the Application Specialist, you play a critical support role to enhance the relationship with assigned clients. You work closely with your clients and other internal resources to gain a solid understanding of their processing environment and application processes to support day-to-day inquiries, resolve complex issues, custom development issues and regulatory compliance inquiries. Your flexibility is critical as you will sometimes need to work outside of standard business hours for release support or production issues.

What are some of the essential Job Responsibilities of Application Specialists?

  • We provide extraordinary customer service with accurate and detailed support for all requests on a problem-to-solution level. This includes answering client inquires, researching and troubleshooting, solving complex client problems and raising to the appropriate group when required.

  • We develop and maintain a working knowledge of the issues unique to assigned clients. This includes, but is not limited to, interfaces, custom files (both incoming and outgoing), special jobs, FTP processes, etc. Frequently review and update these processes to ensure this information is current.

  • We create clear and detailed documentation for Clients, Development, Professional Services and Management.

  • We prioritize case load based upon client urgency and impact while maintaining client expectations; ensuring a superior client experience.

  • You will participate in after-hours support for critical production issues and routine software/hardware upgrades.

  • You work with the Client Executive to prepare and lead assigned client weekly status calls to provide overall status on project and service concerns

  • You provide training on system functionality for clients and internal staff (as assigned)

What are the required and preferred qualifications or skills needed for consideration?

  • High School Graduate required, Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance or related field preferred

  • Minimum three years work-related experience required, preferably in the credit industry

  • Strong experience and/or knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint required

  • Knowledge of and experience working with the credit processing platform, VisionPlus, is a very big plus

  • Ability to travel (10-15%) upon request required
