The MITRE Enterprise for Space Analysis (MESA), a coalition of defense analysts and engineers from across MITRE, provides high quality, comprehensive, quantitative insights for the senior government decision makers shaping the future of our nation’s space policy, operations, and systems.

The MESA team offers class-leading Modeling, Simulation, and Analysis (MS&A), enabling MITRE and sponsor-driven analysis and research in all space mission domains. MESA leverages synergies from multiple customers, missions, and technology providers to offer comprehensive analytical capabilities.

Responsibilities Include:

Responsible for planning, designing and implementing MESA software integration processes

Conducts V&V, static code testing, deployment and documentation on new SW

Acts as SCRUM Master for the MESA software team

Identifies areas of performance improvements in SW development related to database/network, etc.

Identifies and advocates for emerging infrastructure requirements

Facilitates requirements communication between SW team and MESA analysts; as well as conducting end user test activities confirming required functionality

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor of Science degree and at least 5 years of relevant experience

Required Qualifications:

2-5 years of software development experience as a developer or supporting staff responsible for deploying quality software, including software documentation and end user documentation

Experience and evidence of knowledge of principles, concepts, methods and tools of software integration, Agile Development and DevOps practices

Experience with database creation, modification and performance tuning (To include query writing)

Familiarity with source repositories, software development tools (project planning, issue life cycle, etc.)

Exposure to static code analysis and modern related applications

Able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

Master's degree in Computer Science or related disciplines

Deeper knowledge/experience in required qualifications including application design, development, software integration, documentation and testing, and database engineering

Working knowledge of source repositories, software development tools (project planning, issue life cycle, etc.)

Working knowledge of static code analysis and modern related applications

Experience in the space domain (astrodynamics, communications, resource loading, space sensor modeling)

Proven experience in data analysis

Experience working as interface between customers and software engineers

Demonstrated Leadership experience managing a small team

Certified in SAFe Agile development or equivalent.

Experience with webservers and web-service deployments
