DescriptionJOB SUMMARY: Develops and designs hardware and software systems foroperational test and evaluations utilizing various techniques of computerscience, mathematics and engineering. Provides squadron leadership withanalysis of software requirements with regards to the appropriate level ofdesign for tests within cost and time parameters. Frequently interacts withcustomers and vendors concerning improvements and maintenance to the softwarethat is being utilized. Coordinates and/or assists in the installation andremoval of new or existing systems. Develops /designs software systems usingscientific and mathematical models to predict consequences of a particulardesign and assist in data reduction.PRIMARY DUTIES:Support to 17th Test Squadron and all associated locations through thedevelopment of software tools that assist in accomplishing the operationaltest and evaluation mission.Work on-site with government and contractor personnel to establish anddocument software tool requirements.Design software tools containing easy-to-use graphic user interfaces that arecapable extracting data from existing reports or from tabular data sources.Design software tools capable of correlating data, performing statisticalcalculations and generating an output that is man-readable or can be importedto MS Excel or MS Word.Update/modify existing software tools to compensate for changing data andnew test objectives.Use developed software tools to evaluate and rate system performance usingvalidated truth data and collected test data.Write documentation to record all software tool development issues andmethods.Support test analysts and test managers by assisting with development ofdocumentation including; test plans, test reports, detailed testprocedures and other documentation as needed.Assist with the development of the test approach with the purpose ofperforming statistical analysis to evaluate system performance.Support the development and coordination of test reporting documents and testreport briefings and assist other test analysts by reviewing and providingcomment to test briefings and documentation.Present the evaluation results to senior management and higher headquartersfor reviewAdditional duties as assigned. Position RequirementsRELEVANT EXPERIENCE:Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (e.g., Word, PowerPoint,Excel, Access, and Outlook).Proficient in program languages: Python, Visual Basic, C Family, and SQL.Experience in creating, documenting, and verifying software tools designedto ingest data, perform calculations, and output data.Understanding of statisticsEDUCATION/CERTIFICATION: Bachelor's degree in Math, ComputerScience, Engineering, or Statistical Analysis.
