Customer Value Partners, Inc Lead Security Engineer in Colorado

CVP is looking for a Lead Security Engineer to join our team and support our mission of significantly improving the security operation of our nation’s traveling public. Our work and your contributions are vital to our National Security and include direct support to the nation’s transportation systems by applying dynamic risk-based, intelligence driven vetting procedures and enhancing its use of technology. Ensuring we satisfy our cybersecurity requirements is critical to the success of these mission systems.

All positions require US Citizenship and a Secret or Top-Secret clearance. Our goals are to acquire and maintain technical expertise providing security engineering and compliance capabilities that consistently exceed customer expectations.

  • Security Assessments - This role will support CVP by responding to planned and unplanned security assessments. The work here includes documentation collection/review/maintenance and artifact/evidence review and validation

  • Cybersecurity continuous monitoring and improvement – This role will analyze and investigate potential security threats against technologies in use within the selected systems. Continuously monitor and improve system security. Present and implement recommendations that align to industry best practices for system security

  • Security Engineering and System Information Assurance - Providing subject matter expertise to the security requirements allocation and security architecture processes. Develop or contribute to security architecture/design review whitepapers. Provide expert technical guidance in translating National Institute for Standards and Technology (NIST), and client specific standards, policies, and procedures into actionable tasks. Leverage scanning tools and techniques (Tenable, Nessus, DbProtectm Venafi, RedSeal, Burp, etc)

  • Information Assurance Management - Review and provide expert analysis on draft documents and provide timely feedback to TSA employees and contractors. Develop and maintain for Government implementation, information security program strategic and tactical goals and objectives. Develop and maintain for Government implementation, information security program outreach and communication plans. Conduct research of emerging industry technology trends, identify and evaluate security issues, and present the analysis to the government with agency best practices

  • Associate degree or higher

  • Active Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) certification or Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) certification.

  • Experience with applying engineering to IT or cyber problems

  • Experience with technical writing on engineering or computer science engagements

  • Knowledge of engineering or computer science principles

  • Ability to analyze complex systems and identify potential vulnerabilities or threats within those systems from an engineering perspective

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Preferred, but not required, certifications: Linux+, Network+, CCNA, CAP, CEH, ESCA, and OSCP.

  • Preferred, but not required, experience: Security Development lifecycle management, DevSecOps, and CI/CD integration.

  • Candidates should have experience with a variety of Programming Languages including Java, PHP, C, .NET as well as experience with various Operating Systems including Windows, Linux and Unix.

  • Prior experience working as a consultant supporting a federal client.
