PAE Assistant Facilities Maintenance Supervisor in Denver, Colorado

Supporting the Most Exciting and Meaningful Missions in the World Assistant Facilities Maintenance SupervisorSummary:Supports the National Science Foundation managed United States AntarcticProgram as part of the Antarctic Support Contract (ASC). AssistantFacilities Maintenance Supervisor will assist in planning, supervision,and execution of maintenance activities under the supervision of theFacilities Maintenance Supervisor. Deploys to McMurdo Station in rotation withother full time Facilities Maintenance staff, providing direct supervisionof Facilities Maintenance shops and personnel.GENERAL DUTIES (not all inclusive): Ensure safety is the highest priority.Implement and maintain Work Center Safety Program and participate in ASCsafety objectivesAssist in planning, supervision, and operation of Facilities MaintenanceShops.Serve as on station supervisor while deployed, providing direct supervisionof Facilities Maintenance shops and personnelProvide Facilities Maintenance Supervisor with status updates on maintenancework, engineering investigations and other activities as directedAssist in development of annual performance plans including staffing plans,material requirements and the basis of estimate for the budgetCoordinate revision and creation of Standard Operating Procedures(SOPs), working with Trades shops to ensure awareness of and adherenceto SOP's, and to identify and resolve gaps or inaccuracies.Develop FMC training for seasonal staff and a training plan to ensurepersonnel are trained on FMC safety practices, operations, procedures andbest practicesReview job descriptions regularly to ensure they are up to date andqualifications meet applicable regulations and laws on the contract.Develop and keep updated qualifications matrix to include specific USAPtraining requirements for each job categoryCommunicate pre-season expectations to staff and prepare and deliverperformance assessmentsCoordinates with the Work Order Supervisor to insure preventive maintenanceand work order documentation is maintained.Maintain effective communication between departments and represent departmentas needed at operational meetingsAssist with hiring of contract deploying personnel by identifying,interviewing and assisting in final selection of candidatesAssist with the ordering of resupply materials for the department to maintainadequate inventory on stationWork with Project/Construction staff to coordinate and execute constructionprojects, and to identify Facilities Maintenance interests and concerns asneededPerform quality review of work and all related documentation including Maximowork order review for consistency, accuracy and completenessCommunicate professionally, both orally and in writing, with subordinatesas needed to relay information they need in order to be successful in theirjobs. This includes, but is not limited to, staff meetings, performanceappraisals, job requirements, division metrics, Quality Assuranceprocedures, and safety practices.Interact with National Science Foundation, military and other agencyofficials, both over the telephone and in person, in a professional andtactful manner.Work with Human Resources to address conflict or personnel issues as theyariseHandle confidential matters (personnel actions, management reports,etc.) in accordance with management policy and with the highest degree ofprofessionalismComply with all ASC Environmental, Safety and Health (ESH), WasteManagement and Quality Assurance requirementsPerform other duties as requiredREQUIREMENTS:BA/BS degree required. Equivalent work experience accepted in lieu of degree.A minimum of six years Facilities maintenance experience. Three of the sixyears' experience must be at the Foreman level or higher with a progressiveincrease in responsibility.Ability to read design drawings, specifications, and diagramsMinimum intermediate level computer skills and Microsoft Office experience toinclude Word, Excel and OutlookWillingness and ability to learn and ef
