Construction Sourcing Specialist

Denver, CO

System One is currently seeking aConstruction Sourcing Specialistfor a 12-month contract position located in Denver, CO.

This position will be with our client, a utility holding company serving more than 3.3 million electric customers and 1.8 million natural gas customers.

Construction Sourcing Specialist Responsibilities:

  • Partner and support the company's AGIS Program, Meter and Revenue Cycle Categories (including HomeSmart) and the Transmission buildout

  • This role would be focused on PSCo, but could work across Opcos

  • Understands and documents business requirements

  • Identifies and vets potential vendors

  • Negotiates price and contract terms for services, materials, equipment, and/or supplies from vendors

  • Formalize agreements according to company policy

  • Monitors vendor compliance with contract terms and product or service specifications

  • Identifies and realizes opportunities for cost reduction

  • Participates in internal control processes

  • Sourcing and contracting activities for complex construction projects

  • Manage sourcing process, including RFPs

  • Manage contracting process, including negotiation

  • Manage post-contract commercial contract administration

  • Partnering with our BUs do develop RFPs, vendor negotiations, partnering with our projects during execution phase to provide commercial advice

  • System use with SAP and Ariba

Construction Sourcing Specialist Requirements:

  • MBA or JD degree

  • Position will be remote until offices open

  • Requires strong commercial sourcing and understanding of the full sourcing process, including strategy and planning, evaluations, (RFP and contracting skills/contract administration including negotiation and risk management), great communication skills (written and verbal)

  • Writing formal correspondence, preparing and giving presentations

  • Commercial utility and energy experience and/ or construction experience (construction sourcing)

  • Requires strong understand and ability to negotiate and administer contract terms and conditions

  • Sourcing and Contracting for PSCo Transmission service/construction contracts - including Colorado's Power Pathway

  • SAP experience

  • Ariba experience

  • MS Office skills

  • Team culture - Fast pace and positive environment

  • Will need a self-starter with ability to work independently at times

  • 25 % Regional travel

Duration: 12-months

Location: Denver, CO

Pay Rate : $46.10 - $49.16/hr.
