Analyzes business needs to help ensure Oracle solution meets the customer s objectives by combining industry best practices, product knowledge, and business acumen. Exercises judgment and business acumen in selecting methods and techniques to deliver functional and technical solutions on non-routine and very complex aspects of applications and technology installations. Provides direction and mentoring to project teams, and effectively influences customer leadership on key decisions. Supports the business development efforts by pursuing new opportunities and extensions. Collaborates with the consulting sales team by providing domain expertise. Resolves complex customer issues by recommending and implementing solutions. Demonstrates expertise in multiple business processes across two or more product families or ability to architect and design technology solutions encompassing multiple products and make decisions based on impact across the stack.
8-10 years of experience relevant to this position including 4 years of consulting experience. Prior team leadership or management experience preferred. Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience preferred. Product or technical expertise relevant to practice focus. Ability to communicate effectively. Ability to build rapport with team members and clients. Strong influencing and negotiation skills. Ability to travel as needed.

We are looking for engineers with hands on mechanical, electrical controls design and product development experience. If you can design mechanical/electrical control systems, have an understanding of the equipment needs for a data center, and understand the constructability of varying designs you may be a good fit. Engineers will directly support product development and be a part of the process from concept to implementation. You must be capable of defining equipment specifications and evaluating the merit of design changes. You will be relied on as a subject matter expert in the mechanical/electrical controls engineering field. As an controls engineer at Oracle you will be working with other internal groups as well as external groups including manufacturers, vendors, and contractors.
Oracle has a global presence. Travel will be necessary but shouldn t be more than 30%. International support will be part of the job, and some international travel may be necessary. Support could consist of working with international teams and could require developing schematic and design document packages. An understanding of international electrical design requirements is helpful but not necessary.
Responsibilities of the Controls Engineer
Collaborate with core team to understand/develop data center (DC) mechanical designs (basis of design, construction issues for build-outs, infrastructure upgrades).
Manage all environmental control system issues during concept design, detailed design, procurement, bidding, manufacturing, delivery, and installation on site
Identify and resolve issues raised by the cross-functional teams and various external stakeholders
Generate scope of work for equipment infrastructure upgrades based on project needs, work with teams to update/document configuration
Interface with global operations teams and vendors to deliver mechanical solutions for projects.
Be responsible for vendor QA/QC and successful product delivery per internal/external design and equipment standards.
Provide cross-discipline collaboration and general understanding of interrelated issues. Update/maintain internal design specifications, drawings and standards to the latest configurations for equipment.
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or equivalent practical experience.
5 years of experience with mission critical facilities.
Experience in bidding, designing, operating, and commissioning of mechanical cooling distribution systems
Experience with cooling and power system analysis and engineering software packages.
4 years of experience designing and operating with DCIM, EPMS and/or BMS systems
Master's degree and/or Professional Engineer (PE) license.
Fluency in software packages for design and analysis of data center cooling/control systems.
Experience with large scale SCADA systems
Knowledge of large-scale data centers electrical infrastructure systems.
Ability to work in teams and within a matrix organization.
Ability to travel, both domestically and internationally, up to 30% of time.
Direct experience with the design and application or operation of mechanical cooling equipment such as CRACs,CRAHUs, DX, Water/Air cooled chilled water systems, pumps, humidity controls, sensor placement etc.
In Depth understanding of mechanical and electrical systems design.
Knowledge of codes and regulations including ANSI, UL, IEC, Life Safety, IBC, NFPA, NEC, and OSHA.
