LHC Group Data Architect (Open to Remote Work) in Denver, Colorado

The Data Architect Role pertains to the development and implementation of the data architecture and management strategy for the specific release.
Essential Functions
The Data Architect is primarily responsible for performing the following tasks:
Identify the data related aspects of the solution architecture that need to be addressed, and their relationships, to successfully implement the programme
Develop data architecture and management strategy
Develop a plan to implement the strategy
Identify stakeholders and how to maintain relationships with these groups
Describe data interactions with other programmes and highlight data dependencies
Develop the data migration Strategy
For potential solutions capture the customer data requirements
Perform vendor tool selection and evaluation (as required)
Provide clear definitions for entities and attributes (metadata)
Document data requirement using data modelling techniques
Provide team leadership and mentoring, as appropriate
Provide tasks, sizing, issues, assumptions, and risks for data tasks to the project manager(s)
Architect the data components of a solution
Recommend data design guidelines, standards, procedures, and naming conventions
Research new data technologies and data products
Supporting tasks include:
Perform Source Data Analysis
Perform Data Mapping & Transformation activities.
Describe customer’s business processes in order to model/architect the database(s)
Please note that this position maybe performed through a remote Home office (e.g. home-shored, virtual ). While the preferred location would be based out of headquarters at Lafayette, LA - candidates to work at remote locations within the Dallas, Houston, Denver, or Louisville regions will be considered.
Education & Experience
Must have a bachelor’s degree and minimum in computer science or related degree
Data architecture experience
Database design methodologies skills and experience, including at least 2 major deployments
Project management understand and experience
Ability to provide leadership to a small team of architects, business analysts and developers
Strong Communication skills
Team building
Experience running technical and customer workshops & change facilitation sessions
SQL, Oracle and Hadoop Data base Design & Implementation experience
Experience developing interface specifications and detailed data models leading to an application data architecture
Well-organised
Logical thinker, able to think “outside the square”
Detail-oriented, ability to discuss technical details with technical staff and abstract the information for senior managers
Self-directed
Preferred skills:
Healthcare knowledge
Deployment of Healthcare databases and deployments
Experience in any of the following vendor packages would be advantageous: Oracle, Microsoft, AWS, etc.
