VMware Design Partner Program – Customer Experience Architect in Denver, Colorado

VMware’s key customers use digital transformation projects to modernize application development frameworks, processes, and tools. A significant portion of this effort involves a strategy to run in-house and vendor applications on modern infrastructures. As a VMware Customer Experience Architect, you will play a key role in accelerating customer adoption of Kubernetes through the Tanzu portfolio of products. The Design Partner program is intended to link new feature development with customer requirements in a high-touch, curated fashion. As the Architect of this experience you will work with internal product teams to understand new features, develop customer research plans, and manage the customer usage/adoption of new features. This role is also responsible for regular customer feedback sessions, pilots, and other technical support as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Understand and provide data/feedback to shape VMware product capabilities based on Customer engagement

  • Work with customers to understand barriers to application modernization and adopting modern application development methods

  • Identify challenges related to organization, people and processes, in addition to technology, across a variety of application areas and industries (financial services, retail, healthcare etc.)

  • Use customer experiences and conversations to provide direction and feedback to internal VMware product and marketing teams inter and intra BU

  • Participate with internal teams to develop content focused on customer challenges with a focus on large enterprise scale customers

  • Engage with Developers, Ops and SREs through workshops, events and social media channels to better understand their needs and gather feedback on features and requirements

  • Support customer briefings as part of sales cycle

  • Categorize and/or document customer environments and define repeatable solutions – run customer pilots and validation cycles as part of the overall design partner program

  • Take a leadership role and accountability in working with cross-functional teams both within and across BUs

Desired Experience

  • Experience with VMware SDDC stack of products (implementation and/or management)

  • Experience with Tanzu suite of products

  • Ability to work with ambiguity and bring clarity to achieve the right outcome

  • Experience fostering collaboration and teamwork across cross-functional teams

  • Experience in managing and understanding large revenue projects for external customers

  • Strong organizational skills with an ability to manage competing priorities

  • Strong customer mind-set and ability to uncover technical challenges

  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills

  • Strong relationship building skills and business acumen

Estimated travel of between 25% to 50% locally and internationally, depending on needs of customers and VMware teams
