We ask you to please carefully read the instructions belowXcel Energy has a need for one or more Electric Equipment Tester at the LDC inDenver, Colorado.SummaryEET's perform and evaluate high-voltage AC and DC tests on off-line andon-line generation, transmission and distribution electrical equipment. Theyperform thermographic surveys, ultrasonic and partial discharge detection,dissolved gas-in-oil analysis, pole-top & substation recloser tests,grounding system integrity tests and more. EET's evaluate tests on solidliquid and gaseous insulating mediums. EET's perform power factor tests ongeneration, transmission and distribution electrical equipment. EET'sperform comprehensive condition assessment tests on medium- to large-powertransformers, bus, cables, circuit breakers auxiliary equipment and more.RequiredSuccessful applicants will have a High school diploma or GED and meet thefollowing criteria:Associates Degree or other Certification in Electronics Technology, AppliedElectronic Engineering, Associate in Electrical Engineering, NETAcertification, or a combination of education and experience providingequivalent knowledge.Must have a valid driver's licenseMust demonstrate journeyman level knowledge of high- and low-voltage testequipment and its proper application and useMust be able to pass a journeyman level EET test prior to hire.Must be able to interpret test data and make recommendations regarding thecontinued service-life of electrical equipment and apparatusMust know lockout tag-out procedures and electrical clearancesA minimum of 5 years experience in the operation, maintenance, and testingof Substation Apparatus and power equipment is required.Individuals should have a thorough working knowledge and understanding ofcomputer usage, operating system software, testing procedures, andworking knowledge of various testing software application for power apparatus.Individuals are required to be available for after hours scheduled andunscheduled work, emergency response, and callouts.Requires out-of-town travel with a company vehicle and stays overnight forcompletion of assignments, emergency responses, and callouts.Required to travel in adverse weather conditions to assignment destinations.Position is required to be able to lift, move, and carry equipmentweighing up to 70 lbs.Individuals must adhere to, practice, and follow the corporate policiesand procedures.Selection criteria will include testing and/or assessment._______________________________________________________________________________________________Steps in Xcel Energy's hiring processAll qualified candidates will be sent an online assessment via e-mail.Applicants must successfully pass in order to be further considered.Candidates who successfully pass the assessment will be contacted to come infor an information session and interview.After attending our information session/interview, our Team Leaders willcollaborate to decide which candidates are best qualified and offers will bemaCandidates who accept the employment offer will be required to pass XcelEnergy's background check and drug test.
