Cigna Senior DevOps - Cloud Engineer in Denver, Colorado
Cigna’s Enterprise DevOps Engineering group is seeking a Senior DevOps/Cloud Engineer to join our team. We internally build DevOps products that are used across our IT delivery organization. This position encompasses both leadership and individual contributor responsibilities as well as hands-on software development. Critical technical skills include familiarity with AWS, Linux, Kubernetes, Jenkins, as well as the common DevOps activities, practices and techniques found in highly automated environments. Critical leadership skills include the ability to drive DevOps best practices across the team as well as plan and strategize on near-term and longer-term projects.
Candidates for this position should have at least 5 years’ experience in Object Oriented Programming within a delivery team, as well as worked on a DevOps team that supported a set of engineers. The candidate understands the importance of quality and responsiveness in meeting customer expectations. Success in this position requires you to be a self-motivated team player and an open-minded contributor who can help the team reach it its larger goals.
Ownership of custom DevOps tools internally built to drive a reduction in speed to market.
Through a hands on approach, conduct software engineering, code reviews and deliver innovative software tools, technologies, and application frameworks.
Maintain deep levels of involvement in the implementation process.
Ask questions, take risks and champion new ideas.
Business oriented and able to communicate to internal engineering customers as well as leadership
Ensure adherence to existing DevOps enterprise direction and architectural strategies.
Function as a hands-on member of the DevOps teams - guiding & mentoring team to design, document, develop, test, deploy and maintain products and solutions.
Minimum of 5 years' of overall DevOps / Software Engineering experience strongly preferred
5+ DIRECT years of experience in Software Development and Best Practices.
Highly skilled in USING OpenShift / Kubernetes tools
Significant experience with automated build pipelines.
Comfort following versioning and release strategies with Git
Must have experience with Java and/or Groovy. Go experience desirable. Bash, AWS API Libraries, awscli, Python helpful
Experience with infrastructure automation tools (such as Ansible or Terraform).
Experience with build tools (such as Maven, Gradle or Please).
Experience with using Kubernetes clusters and Jenkins
Bachelor's or Master's Degree or the equivalent of education and experience
