The Shipping Inventory Clerk is responsible for assisting in the on time delivery of product, secured by standard shipping methods, accurately matched to the sales order, in a means that is economically competitive in the marketplace. The Shipping Inventory Clerk is also responsible for the processes that coincide with inventory management and control within a warehouse environment. Organized placement of product with proper labeling which includes part number, product description, and quantity is essential. The Shipping/Inventory Clerk must also coordinate trucking companies to ensure timely pickup of product and manage delivery issues from customers as they are related to the trucking companies. The Shipping Inventory Clerk will also maintain the safety of all employees in his department. The Shipping/Inventory Clerk reports directly to the Site Manager.
Job Responsibilities:
The responsibilities of the Shipping/Inventory Clerk include, but are not limited to assisting the Site Manager to:
Maintain accurate inventory of consumable items with replenishment schedules.
Manage critical shipping and packaging supplies
Coordinate delivery schedule and product storage in the warehouse/yard.
Manage shipping process to ensure efficiency and capacity issues are addressed
Seek improvements in shipping process
Coordinate all trucking companies to meet our delivery schedule and demands
Monitor shipping output for quality and accuracy
Cycle count the FG inventory and reconcile inventory discrepancies
Manage the movement of inbound material
Manage the RMA process from the point of receiving a return
Monitor safety by completing safety inspections and walk-throughs
Maintain equipment used in shipping including the operation and inspections of forklifts
Monitor movement of inventory locations
Review storage and capacity planning/issues
Seek improvements in shipping efficiencies including minimizing shipping errors

Job Skills:
The Shipping/Inventory Clerk should possess the following skills/knowledge:

Educational Requirements:
- High School Diploma/GED
Preferred Experience:
Related inventory, shipping, and receiving experience in high paced manufacturing environment
5 + years Supervisory experience with detailed knowledge of shipping/receiving practices
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift a maximum of 100 lbs and ability to stand for long periods of time.
Ability to perform labor in extreme temperatures and temperature changes for long periods of time.
Position requires full range of body motion including lifting, twisting, bending, reaching, pulling, and pushing plus ability to mount and dismount industrial equipment.
Ability to use hands and legs to physically handle awkward and slick pieces of PVC pipe
