The candidate will play a hands on technical design & development role as part of an Agile scrum team in the Enterprise data strategy Buyer/Intermediary domain. The individual must have experience in Agile delivery methods and have strong analytical, technical, and communication skills. The ideal candidate is a technologist that brings a fresh perspective and passion to solve complex functional and technical challenges in a fast-paced and team-oriented environment.


  • Perform code reviews with scrum teams to approve for Production deployment

  • Conduct research to identify new solutions and methods to fulfill diverse and evolving business needs

  • Full stack development including triage, design, coding and implementation

  • Provide leadership, vision and advise team on implementation best practices

  • Establish/Improve/Maintain Proactive monitoring and management of supported assets assuring performance, availability, security, and capacity

  • Plan and implement procedures that will maximize operating efficiency for application integration technologies, this includes managing the evolution and maturity in agile delivery, automating and improving development operational processes and engineering (Dev Ops).

  • Identify and drive process improvement opportunities

  • Maintains a strong and collaborative relationship with delivery partners and business stakeholders

  • Participate in proof of concepts for software tools/technologies related to application or process development.

Evernorth is a new business within the Cigna Corporation.


  • Understanding of Agile development methodology and concepts

  • Strong knowledge of Data Integration (batch, real-time) and data analysis techniques

  • Strong knowledge on an MDM implementations (IBM MDM, Oracle MDM or Reltio MDM)

  • Experience in cloud native design (AWS preferred)

  • Experience working with databases like DB2, Oracle, MongoDB (desirable)

  • Candidate needs to be a quick learner and be able to handle ambiguity.

  • Ability to mobilize and motivate teams towards a common vision and common set of objectives

  • Ability to set direction and approach

  • Ability to resolve conflict (striving for win-win outcomes) and be able to execute with limited information and ambiguity

  • Appreciates/values diversity in leadership styles

  • Ability to effectively translate between business and technical language.

  • Ability to work in a fast paced, demanding, and rapidly changing environment

  • Ability to navigate highly matrixed organization effectively.

Because you will be working from home, you will also be required to meet all Work at Home eligibility requirements as a condition of your employment.

General Qualifications

  • MUST be a current contractor with Cigna, Express Scripts or Evernorth

  • At least 5 plus years of recent experience designing, developing, deploying, and supporting computing applications in a large-scale, mainframe, midrange, and distributed environment as a Software Developer.

  • Ability to perform detailed analysis of business problems and technical environments.

  • Strong oral and written communication skills.

  • Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.

  • Ability to think strategically and implement iteratively.

  • Proven track record of success in challenging the status quo, implementing new ideas and designs with a practical orientation.

  • Business area subject matter expertise preferred

  • Demonstrated ability and interest in learning new technologies

For this position in Colorado, we anticipate offering an annual salary of 110,300.00, +/- 20%, depending on experience.

This role is also anticipated to be eligible to participate in an annual bonus plan.
