OverviewMaximize efficiency via preventive maintenance, repair/modification ofmachinery, and installation of new machinery. Works closely with MaintenanceSuperintendent, Maintenance lead, and Maintenance team including all otherTeam members, Electricians, Production supervisors, Machine operators,and CleaNature and Scope of PositionWeld and fabricate using arc and wire feed welders, cutting torch, andtrack burners; ability to work with and repair hydraulic, pneumatic, andmechanical systems; machine alignment; read blue prints; basic knowledgeof electrical systems in manufacturing; ability to identify different metalcompositions, work with a variety of millwright tools, and use machinespecific lockout procedures. Ability to use fall protection equipment.Journeyman Level Millwright card preferred.Communication skills - must be able to communicate effectively withMaintenance Supervisor, lead millwright, electricians, productionsupervisors, machine operators, and cleanup via face to face meetings,radio, and telephone regarding troubleshooting, preventive maintenance,safety, etc. Must be able to write. Vision/hearing/touch continuously;reading and speech required to communicate comprehension of Job HazardAnalysis, monthly safety training topics, and Job Certification if applicable.Summary of Responsibilities Maintain a safe and accident free work site. Clean machines and machine parts, using cleaning solvents, cloths, air guns, hoses, vacuums, or other equipment. Dismantle machines and remove parts for repair, using hand tools, chain falls, jacks, cranes, or hoists. Inspect or test damaged machine parts and mark defective areas or advise supervisors of repair needs. Install, replace, or change machine parts and attachments, according to production specifications. Lubricate or apply adhesives or other materials to machines, machine parts, or other equipment, according to specified procedures. Reassemble machines after the completion of repair or maintenance work.Description of Essential Duties and Responsibilities Take steps to ensure every job is done in a manner that is safe and completed according to the latest workplace safety regulations, laws and requirements. Perform preventive maintenance on machinery. Complete PM's as scheduled. Repair/modify/align machinery - troubleshoot equipment problems. Repair/modify mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and gravitational components of machinery. After repair is completed, check/operate repaired item for proper operation. Order appropriate replacement parts and record any further work to be done on "Work List". Install new machinery. Learn to operate machine centers. Assist with pre-shift warm-up of machinery. Housekeeping - clean and organize shop and parts. Work closely with operators and address any and all safety/productionand maintenance needs. Organize and get an inventory control on the barker/block saw warehouse. Order spare parts as needed. Daily and weekly grease machines. Move equipment and machinery as needed throughout your shift either manually or with the proper and safe use of equipment. Use a variety of hand tools, measuring tools, and equipment for cutting, welding, and brazing to adequately fulfill your daily job duties. Utilize cranes and trucks to complete large-scale projects. Put your professional judgement to good use to decide which machines, techniques and tools are the best option for moving equipment and completing all necessary jobs. Assist machinery maintenance employees as well as industrial machinery mechanics as needed to help make sure the plant and all machines operate at peak efficiency. Package and categorize machine parts after taking them apart with accuracy and according to the company's standards and specific project requirements. Clean up at the end of sh
