At BMC, the Inventory Replenishment Specialist purchases inventory from established programs. They consistently procure product categories with efficiency and accuracy utilizing system ordering controls and demand planning functionality within the Trend ERP.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Works independently to determine product/inventory needs for assigned products and works collaboratively with locations to adjust as needed based on changes in demand.

  • Partners with locations to understand customer needs, overstock situations, customer backorders, space limitations, etc.

  • Reviews all PO confirmations and acknowledge POs with price and quantities in Trend, updating pricing, quantities and ship date. Work with Sourcing Manager on getting any replacement cost updated as needed to keep variance to a minimum.

  • Reviews PORBX for backorder PO’s and any PO’s that may be late or have a problem with future stock outs that need expediting.

  • Communicates and aligns with Sourcing Managers to evaluate Supplier performance.

  • Runs PO-RARR’s daily placing POs to maintain proper inventory levels at assigned locations. Seeks out alternate suppliers with Sourcing Managers guidance when normal ARP path supplier is out of stock.

  • Identifies and assists in moving overstock or obsolete inventory at locations. Suggests and enters WT and works with locations to arrange for the movement of surplus inventory.

  • Regularly reviews frozen products (products where the system is no longer calculating ordering controls due to insufficient data). Contacts locations and Sourcing as necessary to update data and unfreeze products when warranted.

  • Communicates as needed with ICS’s or local buyers on updating ICSW on item usage to maintain Trend forecast. This includes updating ICSW files, status, safety stock, lead time, usage adjustments and standard packs.

  • Participates in vendor meetings, catalog, and mill tours to continuously improve product and industry knowledge.

  • Assists in annual and biannual physical inventory.

  • Works with ICS’s, local buyers, and Sourcing Manager to monitor NNA and inventory levels to improve location turns and reduce surplus inventory.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Skills

  • Minimum education required: High school diploma.

  • Special skills required: Interpersonal communication, writing skills, and highly organized.

  • Other: Computer literacy – Microsoft Office and Trend procurement procedures.

Required Experience

  • Minimum experience required: 2 years inventory/supply chain experience.
