Kforce has a client in search of a Software Engineer 4 in Englewood, Colorado (CO). The ideal candidate leads activities to develop, document and maintain architectures, requirements, algorithms, interfaces and designs for software systems.Essential Responsibilities: (Reflects typical job activities. Specific activities may vary by Business Unit/Service Unit, region, site or assignment):

  • Leads the development, documentation and maintenance of software architectures in order to meet customer, functional, and/or regulatory requirements, quality objectives, and constraints specific to the applicable domain and available technology; Ensures application of best practices; Mentors less experienced employees

  • Provides technical leadership for project management including schedules, plans, and estimates; Prioritizes tasks and lead reviews. Assists project managers with risk management and progress reviews. Develops corrective action plans

  • Develops Computer Software Component (CSC) software requirements and algorithms; Defines external interfaces; Leads Computer Software Unit requirements trade studies; Performs CSC requirements change assessment; Supports requirements team lead in negotiating CSCI interfaces and requirements

  • Leads supplier/subcontract management team; Ensures application of best practices; Reviews statements of work, conducts estimates and manages risks; Translates contract requirements into work requirements, processes and tasks; Contacts suppliers and subcontractors to exchange technical data and to discuss project performance; Manages customer and supplier relationships; Participates in the development of fundamental approaches to projects and requirements for implementation

  • Leads development, maintenance, and unit tests for a software Computer Software Configuration Item (CSCI) by utilizing software development environments and programming languages in order to implement design and satisfy allocated requirements

  • Knowledge: Applies extensive job practices, techniques, standards, principles, theories, and concepts; Has full knowledge of other related disciplines; Recognized as a job expert within the department/organization

  • Problem Solving: Provides technical solutions to complex problems that require ingenuity and creativity

  • Discretion: Exercises considerable latitude in determining technical objectives of assignment; Completed work is reviewed for desired results from a relatively long-term perspective

  • Impact: Guides the successful completion of aspects of major programs and may function in a project leadership role; Erroneous decisions or recommendations may result in failure to achieve major organizational objectives

  • Liaison: Represents the organization as the prime technical contact on contracts and projects
