Job Summary:

Jacobs has an opportunity for a Survey Technician located in the Denver Metro area. Candidate must understand the project goal, scope of work and expectations of the client.

Candidate will assist the Project Surveyor with delivery of survey tasks including:

  • Field crew setup

  • Interpreting field notes and sketches

  • GPS and conventional data processing

  • Feature code editing and processing

  • Generating and editing Digital Terrain Models (DTM)

  • Public records research

  • Title commitment and record document review

  • COGO calculations

  • Right of Way acquisition determination

  • Writing property descriptions

  • Perform work in a safe manner

  • Follow department quality processes and project QC plans.

  • Work as a team player and contribute to an exceptional culture.

Essential Functions: Intermittent sitting, walking, standing, bending, squatting, climbing, kneeling, twisting, and lifting. Lifting requirements limited to 20 lbs. in the form of supplies, drawings, etc. Longest distance carried of 50 feet. Hand manipulation is required for simple grasping, pushing and pulling, and fine manipulation. Right and/or left hands utilized. Occasional need to reach and/or work above the shoulder, for supplies, as well as below the shoulder for same. No foot controls necessary. Must be alert to equipment in the field, there will be occasional travel, will work near construction job site equipment when in the field, occasional need to work near hazardous equipment and machinery, occasional need to walk on uneven ground, exposure to dust, gas or fumes, exposure to noise, extremes in temperature or humidity, and potential work at heights.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or associate’s degree in applicable field is preferred

  • A minimum of 1 year of surveying experience is required

  • A minimum of 1 year of experience as a Survey Technician is preferred

  • Previous experience as a Land Surveyor Intern (LSI) is preferred

  • Proficiency with Trimble Business Center, InRoads and Civil 3D preferred

  • Experience with laser scanning, photogrammetry, remote sensing, LiDAR, CAD, GIS, subsurface utilities, or ROW acquisition preferred
