MASTER SCHEDULER (1801399)Position PurposeThe Level 2 Scheduler has the responsibility of establishing, managing,reviewing and maintaining a valid schedule for selected items. This positionwill have a great impact on internal/external customer service, supplychain, inventory, material and capacity planning and requires minimalsupervisiEssential FunctionsIdentifies, negotiates and resolves conflicts with respect to material andcapacity availability and order-promising integritySchedules raw material/purchase components through product release (i.e."billet to box")Plans, schedules, and releases Production, Aftermarket (Repairs andSpares), NPI, PPAP and interplant ordersReviews and responds to all MRP messages on a daily bases as requiredManages external operational workIdentifies initial constraints and assists team with possible correctiveactionsAssists leadership team with managing constraints and the utilization ofresources and overtimeSupports transition plans and updates item planning parameters(interplants, material ownership codes, lead times, lot sizes,etc.) accordinglyAssists teams with NCRs, ATRs, and/or RW (rework) Orders.Quotes deliveries dates for sales requests within the defined lead timeDevelops and maintains communication channels between various departments tomaintain the production flow ratesActively works on reducing inventory/ lead times, productionimprovements, and efficienciesActively looks for improvements in the planning/ scheduling process inaddition to maintaining part parameters such as planner codes, lead timesand safety stocksCreates planning BOM's and looks for ways to add phantoms and change BOMstructure to improve production efficiencyWorks with both sales and operations globally to provide timely feedbackregarding all requested schedule changesEstablishes a working line of communication with all company functionsCommunicates when demand cannot be met and recommends alternatives on how therequested demand could be satisfiedReleases and manages production ordersReviews, identifies and resolves material shortages with the appropriatesupplier(s)Interacts with customers and sales in SIOP meetingsWorks with Demand Management to drive changes in forecastingUnderstands capacity levels in productionWorks with commodity groups in sourcing materialsProactively works line of balance (Supply plan) with both internal andexternal suppliersActively engaged in Continuous Improvement projectsGuides and assists new Schedulers, Planners, SQE's, SMs, and/orSupervisors in the planning processesParticipates in projects (e.g. NPI, PLC, etc.)Collaborates with IT groups to test changes and updates in MRP systemCreates reports to help management in analyzing trends, production,efficiencies, etc.Facilitates, resolves, priorities conflicts between different areas suchas Sales, Demand Management and Production Other FunctionsActively participates in Daily "Gemba" with Product Line Team to trackstandard WIP, maintain Heijunka and Visual Management boardsCoordinates Engineering changesActively works with production line and external suppliers to resolve materialissues (shortages, emergency customer demands, etc.)At some locations may perform material planning and buying functionsParticipates in various PUN groups as requiredAt some locations, may also require compliance to government contractingQualificationsKnowledge/Skills/AbilitiesUnderstands and maintains a master production schedule with the ability to useand revise that schedule to achieve business objectives Solid knowledge of WISE/Cincom/SAP or other ERP systemsSolid knowledge of Manufacturing Resource Planning (MRPII)Solid knowledge of Planning functions/rolesSolid communication skills, both verbal and written across all levels of theorganizationSolid detail orientation and organizational skills. Ability to scheduleseveral production lines at the same time.Solid process and product knowledgeIntermediate Microsoft Office Suite skillsSolid knowledge of Woodward reple
