This is a full time salary position.

Position Summary

This position is responsible for the overall Quality and Food Safety at the ADM Ft. Collins facility. This is accomplished through providing leadership and direction within the facility and being a strong and collaborative partner cross functionally. The successful candidate will have the responsibility to oversee food safety, sanitation, and quality progress and develop a vision for long-term strategy to ensure continued success.

This role reports to the Director of Quality Assurance for the flavors sites of ADM Nutrition in North America.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Inspire technicians to achieve high quality goals through a policy of shared data, responsibility, and decision-making.

  • Lead the Quality department to seek information and investigate all quality and food safety deviations/rejections, and non-conformities.

  • Champion continuous improvement opportunities to improve supply chain efficiencies, output, and ability to react to customer concerns.

  • Plan, coordinate, and direct the facility quality assurance, food safety, and quality control programs designed to ensure production of safe high quality products consistent with ADM standards as well as Federal, State, and Local law requirements.

  • Identify and correct gaps in the process from development to manufacturing.

  • Lead, coordinate, and bolster food safety programs and training.

  • Lead and represent standard methodologies for the environmental monitoring program.

  • Participate in Cross-functional Teams to assure quality requirements are met.

  • Identify ways of improving efficiency with focus on EBITDA.

  • Maintenance of procedures and documents for the Quality Dept and participate in audits (GFSI, Customer, etc.).

  • Correspondence with customers and vendors relating to non-conformity questions or products.

  • Raw material supply involvement in new and alternate supplier approval.

  • Educate and work with R&D on Quality Control capabilities and procedures.

  • Lead, educate, and grow Quality team and other direct reports.

  • Lead, manage, investigate, and report customer complaints.

  • Provide technical support to all WNA facilities.

  • Handle specification development and revisions.

  • Focus on Food Safety and Customer/Consumer needs in all aspects of work.

  • Complete Rejection/Deviation investigations to determine actual root causes.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining Quality requirements.

  • Encourages trust between Operations and Quality.

  • Ability to train co-workers on new/modified procedures.

  • Bring new ideas and improvements to Quality protocols and procedures.

  • Lead Quality discussions as a member of Cross-Functional teams.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Chemistry, or related field.

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a related technical area. Flavor industry or CPG experience preferred. Vanilla extract experience ideal.

  • Management experience.

  • Familiarity with FSMA, HACCP, GFSI, and regulatory compliance.

  • Strong focus and understanding of Food Safety.

  • Problem solving skills.

  • Strong leadership and decision making skills.

  • Computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).

  • Time management skills.

  • Interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work within cross-functional teams.
