Salary$26.51 - $37.12 Hourly LocationFC 614 E Vine, COJob TypeRegularDepartmentRoad and BridgeJob Number202100029 OverviewThe Larimer County Road and Bridge Department is responsible for the operationand maintenance of 419 centerline miles of non-paved roads and 384 centerlinemiles of paved roads and 101 miles of subdivision roads in Larimer County. Weare seeking a candidate who is adaptable, friendly and efficient to fill ourSenor Operator position. This position is also a critical member of our snowremoval operations. ResponsibilitiesSpecifically, this position:Plans and supervises the placing of road maintenance materials includinggravel and chip seal. (Equipment utilized includes but is not limited to,Motor grader, steel drum and rubber tire roller, backhoe, loader, water truck,asphalt distributor, chip spreader, auto-level).Exercises direct supervision over assigned personnel, suppliers andcontractors.Supervises, evaluates, coaches, trains, and disciplines assigned personnel.Evaluates work performance and productivity of subordinates and ensureproject rules, procedures, applicable laws and regulations are followed.Assures compliance with applicable safety regulations and procedures.Complies with MSHA, DOT, Colorado 811 and other applicable safetyregulations and procedures.Makes recommendations for future maintenance activities.Evaluates the need for, coordinate, and participates in snow and ice controlactivities.Engages in physical labor for extended periods of time outdoors in all weatherconditions, day or night, including activities and physical demands requiringstrength to lift, carry, push, pull, and otherwise move objects of up to 50pounds on a regular basis.Participates in the investigation and response to routine complaints andquestions posed by internal and external customers.Performs documentation and record keeping. To view the full job description, .The ideal candidate will:Have experience with heavy equipment operation and general maintenance.Have experience with personnel management and supervision.Be able to perform safe work practices and work zone traffic control.Establish and maintain positive and effective working relationships with allcontacted during performing assigned duties.Achieve expected quality of work.Actively and positively support departmental vision, mission, goals,objectives, policies and procedures.Read, interpret and understand Engineering plans, drawings andspecifications including the CDOT M Standards.Analyze data and situations to develop effective and workable plans ofaction.Follow oral and written instructions.Read, write, and speak to communicate effectively in U.S. English per 49C.F.R. 391.11(b)(2).Make independent decisions.Successfully operate electronic devices including desktop computer,tablet, laptop,smart phone. QualificationsHigh school diploma or GED required.One (1) year documented supervisory/management experience required.Five (5) years of relevant progressively more responsible experience inone (1) or more of the following areas required: Bridge constructionand/or repair, structural concrete construction, road constructionincluding subgrade, base course or HMA paving, pavement maintenance,earthwork construction, construction, repair and maintenance of roadsidedrainage systems, pipe installation gravel and native surface roadway,maintenance, repair and work zone practices, mining and production ofaggregate, road drainage, structure construction, and/or maintenanceor snow anPossession of or ability to obtain and maintain a Class "A" CDL Driver'sLicense with an 'N' -Tanker endorsement and without the followingrestrictions: 'L' -air brake, 'O' -no/Trctr/Trlrrestriction(s), "E" -No manual transmission, "X"-No cargo inCMV tank vehicle or "Z" - No full air
