House of Blues Monitoring Platform Engineer in Greenwood Village, Colorado

Job Summary:

What you’ll be doing:

  • This position is responsible for developing, managing and supporting event monitoring systems and dashboards based on the needs of internal business partners.

  • Partner with engineering teams to understand current monitoring technologies used, product architecture, application dependencies.

  • Manage the building of monitoring Infrastructure services through a deep understanding of the application requirements. Work with Architecture, Operational teams to develop, apply and support for Enterprise Infrastructure processes, tools and environments. The Monitoring Engineer will be responsible for the monitoring of applications and infrastructure ensuring high quality and timely alerts and notifications.

  • Integrate disparate monitoring/management platforms into a central monitoring view for central monitoring.

  • Experience in designing and creating custom tools, scripts and interfaces to build monitoring and alerting capabilities custom fit to the systems in use.

  • Provide the necessary training, documentation and procedures to hand off to the monitoring team.

  • Establish a partnership and collaborate with critical incident management, various business owners and engineering/tech ops leads to achieve shared objectives, define product specifications, expected outcomes and help determine priority of incoming tickets. Collaborate well with partner teams.

  • Experience in designing and creating custom tools, scripts and interfaces to build monitoring and alerting capabilities custom fit to the systems in use.

  • Responsible for making suggestions and improvements to the existing monitoring processes

  • Conducts research on monitoring products, services, and standards to remain abreast of developments in the various monitoring industry.

  • Collaborate with business, engineering, operations and other key partners to ensure operational readiness of new solutions and ongoing optimization/improvement of existing solutions.

  • Scale out monitoring solutions as necessary to meet changing enterprise needs.

  • Previous experience defining, creating, and supporting monitoring dashboards for various levels of users and providing reporting and status information clearly and at actionable levels.

  • Mentor and cultivate other engineers
