Technatomy Corporation Documentation Specialist in Lakewood, Colorado


The Human Resources Management Systems Division (HRMSD) is responsible for improving the federal government’s business processes for management of human resources (HR) through seamless, end-to-end, real-time integration between HR and other systems, using Simple Object Access Protocol based web services. This provides single point data capture eliminating redundant data entry and real-time sharing of data with other systems needing the data resulting in efficiency gains, improved quality of data, and increased employee satisfaction. Standards based integration sockets support the concept of plug-and-play, allowing HRMSD to integrate with solutions from a variety of vendors and Federal HR SSCs. HRMSD applications include the FPPS Datamart (data warehouse), Workforce Transformation and Tracking System (WTTS), Entrance on Duty System (EODS), Talent Management System (TMS) and the FedTalent system, and ECStaffing (contractor staffing and tracking).

POSITION DESCRIPTION (Duties and Responsibilities):

  • Prepare and/or maintain systems, programming, and operations documentation, procedures and methods including user manuals and reference materials for FedTalent; current documentation for FedTalent will need to be condensed and organized

  • Maintain a current internal documentation library for FedTalent using current templates and shared sites

  • Provide or coordinate special documentation services as required

  • Work with HRMSD supervisors, managers and leads to analyze assigned activities

  • 6 month assigment with options to go longer


  • Experienced Documentation Specialist or related experience (e.g. Technical Writer, Technical Documentation Specialist)

  • Develop data flow, logic diagrams, or swimlanes

  • Document management/control (collect documents, manage records, and retrieve information)

  • Ability to work in team-oriented environment with minimal assistance

  • MS Word

  • MS PowerPoint (preferred), Visio

  • Technical and/or systems orientation or aptitude

  • Strong customer service orientation

  • Excellent open and proactive written and oral communication skills

Education (Minimum Requirements):

  • Associates degree, 5 years of experience; or equivalent/commensurate experience
