SUMMARY OF PROGRAM/PROJECTUnder the DOIs Interior Business Center (IBC), The Personnel and PayrollSystems Division (PPSD) is responsible for designing, developing,implementing, supporting, and maintaining many administrative computersystems that are used by Federal government clients. The Federal Personnel andPayroll System (FPPS) is PPSDs state-of-the-art personnel and payrollsystem that interfaces with many other Government computer systems. FPPSservices almost 300,000 users in numerous Federal agencies and commissions.FPPS is written in Software AGs Natural legacy programming language; thedatabase is ADABAS. Software AGs NaturalOne programming interface is alsobeing used for specific FPPS-related projects.He/She will develop code in Natural/Natural One mainframe environment andwork in the Natural ADABAS database, participate in migrations, runparallels as well as perform tests and release management. Additional info isbPOSITION DESCRIPTION (Duties and Responsibilities):Under general direction, the developer will utilize Software AGs NATURALprogramming language using an ADABAS DBMS to design and develop major FPPScomponents, integrating work with other computer specialists and functionalspecialists to design necessary interfaces and coordinate common requirements.Perform system analysisAssist in the preparation of software requirements specificationsWrite and update system documentation and program codeDesign and perform unit testingProvide production supportDesign and create internal program structures of files and records andappropriate database components and determines detail sequence of actions inprogram/database logicAnalyze functional specifications and designs appropriate subsystems andcomponents for integration within the overall systemPrepares technical program specifications based on these requirements andinvestigates feasibility of alternate design approachesWrite, test, and execute programs for ad hoc data retrievals (includingformal Data Requests) for research, development, testing, and training needsKNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:Knowledge of Payroll/Personnel Systems helpful but not requiredSoftware AGsNatural/Natural OneProgramming and Design workNaturals ADABASE DBMSIBM Mainframe/Z/OS, TSO/ISPF, IBM JCLKnowledge of Testing ProceduresKnowledge of Legacy (Test, QA, Development) methodologyEclipse IDE (helpful)Ability to work in team-oriented environmentInterpersonal and communication skills, to navigate and manage customerexpectationsEducation (Minimum Requirements):Bachelors Degree and/or 10 years of experienceWork Location:Lakewood, ColoradoTechnatomy Corporation is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
