** *Software DeveloperPosition SummaryThe Software Engineer is responsible for coding, testing, and documentingapplication programs of basic to moderate size and complexity, working withaccepted development department standards and procedures.ResponsibilitiesDevelop new application programs from established specifications or documentedrequirements.Maintain existing application programs by fixing bugs or clearing upoperational deficiencies in both previously released software and softwareslated for future release.Assure program, module and system integrity through thorough testing andadherence to company standards and procedures.Work through all phases of the software development life cycle, includingresearch, design, analysis, requirements, implementation, testautomation, and maintenance.Utilize new technologies and tools to modify products and provide integrationwith applications developed internally and externally.Prepare and modify program and system documentation.Achieve departmental goals and timelines.Perform other duties as assigned.The Software Engineer must be able to:Develop programs of basic moderate complexity adhering to establisheddepartmental standards.Learn and implement new technologies and architectures within a reasonablyquick timeframe while producing and testing high quality software.Demonstrate proficient knowledge of software development practices,concepts, and technologies obtained through formal training and workexperienceDemonstrate proficient knowledge of required programming languages.Demonstrate proficient knowledge of the technical/business environment.Effectively partner, communicate, and negotiate with business analyst,development and support groups in order to gather and communicate businessrequirements.Work on individual programs that are part of a much larger application.Adapt to changing products and technologies.Fix bugs in existing, often unfamiliar programs, under considerable timeconstraints.Manage and prioritize often conflicting tasks and interruptions so as tominimize their impact on the current deadlines and workload.QualificationsBachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, orcomparable work experience.Typically, two or more years of software development experience withdatabase technology.Demonstrated proficient knowledge of software development practices,computer science theory, and understanding of relevant technologies.Relevant Technologies:Java (or similar high level language)SQL Server 2016Angular, JavaScript (or similar language)AWS Cloud solutionsMachine Learning and Natural Language ProcessingOr relevant related technologiesDemonstrated ability to write and test code in reasonable timeframes.Demonstrated basic understanding of product architecture and all underlyingtechnologies.Demonstrated basic understanding of development process.Experience with data modeling tools, web services and/or service orientedarchitecture is beneficial.Ability to work well both independently and within a team environment.Good written and verbal communication skills.Good interpersonal skills.Ability to negotiate with various parties to ensure enhancements toapplications are addresses while maintaining/balancing business situationsand constrictions.Well-developed logical thinking, reasoning and problem solving skills.Well-developed time management skills.Ability to prioritize and complete multiple tasks in a fast-paced, technicalenvironment.Keen attention to detail.LocationLakewood, ColoradoColorado Code of Regulations 7 CCR 1103-13 DisclosureSalary will generally fall between $58,285 - $100,000 beforeadjustment for geographic differences.
