Principal Architect – SDN/NFV
The Principal Architect will assume the lead role within the SDN/NFV Architecture, Engineering and Certification team, in developing, engineering and certifying end-to-end cloud-based service delivery architecture transcending multiple Internet/Web technologies and disciplines, consisting of IP based networks from client universal CPE, metro network, IP core to Data Center. Architect, test and certify full-stack private and public cloud infrastructure including NFVi and PaaS applications solutions to meet diverse and complex business opportunities. Provide advanced technical leadership in research, design, analysis, testing and problem-solving efforts to the SDN/NFV products and services. The architecture, engineering, testing and certification scope includes microservices based element management systems, core IP systems (AAA) and IP network infrastructure. The Principal Architect must possess knowledge and hands-on experience in the End-to-End Orchestration, Service Assurance, Virtual Infrastructure Manager (VIM), Network Function Virtualization (NFVi) Infrastructure, SDN Controllers (DC, WAN, ACCESS), and Virtual Network Functions (VNF), SDWAN and Physical Network Function (PNF) Managers. The Principal Architect MUST have strong IP Routing, Switching, Systems Administration, Cloud Operating Systems such as OpenStack, OpenShift, Kubernetes, Automation and Security domain expertise in enterprise and service provider background.
The Principal Architect will interface with various organizational units from Marketing, Products Development to Operations, providing key architectures, engineering, test/certification inputs and solutions to the product requirements. The Principal Architect represents the Virtualization Architecture, Engineering and Certification organization, engaged from product inception to operational hand-off/market deployment of various IP products and services embracing DevOps model.
Prototype, Architect, Engineer, Test/integrate/validate and certify orchestration services in an Agile/DevOps paradigm from Build/Development, QA/UAT, Preproduction and Production environments in a continuous testing, integration and delivery.
Produce High-Level and Low-Level Design (HLD/LLD) Documents, Test Plans, Executive Presentations of Architectures, Test Results and Designs of Cloud Service Delivery Architecture from the IP Core/Metro, Edge, Universal CPE (uCPE) and Virtual CPE (vCPE).
Work with vendor engineers to design and facilitate development of methods, test tools and features to DevOps support SDN/NFV based services across managed and unmanaged networks in support of Proof of Concept (PoC) testing.
Architect and Design various types of White-box solutions for Data Center ToR, Metro and Universal CPE platforms.
Automate data center framework projects for virtualized and cloud computing core infrastructure including OpenStack, perform code review, continuous development/integration systems and development tools.
Establish developer workflow and code review process with Atlassian software tools such as Jira, Confluence, and Bitbucket. Implement continuous integration testing and release systems.
Partner and Solve technical engineering and certification issues with Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) vendors and suppliers
DevOps with Scrum Master certified experience desired
Configuration Management: Ansible, Ansible Tower, Puppet, Salt
Cloud Operating Systems: OpenStack Queens/OpenShift 3.10/Google Kubernetes 1.12/Docker 1.13
Intimately familiar with VMware, VirtualBox, KVM and LXC, Docker/Containers, Linux Bridge, OVS, DPDK, SR-IOV
Automate and continuous delivery of applications, container, security, compliance, infrastructure using tools such as Jenkins and Ansible
Expert in Scalable & Redundant Network Storage Files Systems: CEPH, S3, GPFS and GlusterFS
Core IP Routing and Switching Protocols: IPv4/6, BGP, IS-IS, OSPF, HSRP, Segment Routing, VRRP, MPLS, VPLS, GLBP including Multicast : IGMP v2, v3, PIM SM, SSM
Advanced IP networking and systems building, troubleshooting and root-cause analysis
SDN/NFV Controllers and SD-WAN (Software Defined Network/WAN).
Systems Administration of Unix and Embedded Development platform
Policing and Traffic Shaping of IP networks (QoS)
Layer 2- Layer 7 Protocols/Applications Analysis and Testing
Proficient with Servers, Routers, Switches, Load Balancers, WAN optimization, Firewall and Intrusion Prevention System (IPS) Configurations
Systems, Network Architecture, Design, Testing, Implementation, and Operations
Proficient in coding, compiling open source tools from various FreeBSD ports, and Linux repositories
AAA Security Protocols: RADIUS, TACACS. IPSec, IEEE 802.1X Client Authentication
Security monitoring, hardening, penetration testing, vulnerability assessment and security forensics.
Well versed with IP and security monitoring tools, analytics and Deep Packet Inspection (DPI), Intrusion Prevention Systems (IPS)
Conformance and Benchmark testing of CPE, Access, Edge, Core, Storage and Video Systems
Thorough understanding of Standards based documents and proposals: IEEE, ITU-T, ISO, DASHIF, and Internet Standards: W3C and IETF RFCs
Programming Languages and Kernel Development
C, C++, C#, Phython, node.js, json, shell scripting
Intimately familiar with FreeBSD and Linux Kernel developments, tuning and programing embedded device drivers’ concepts and implementation
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science (Master’s preferred) or equivalent education with relevant Internet Service Provider (ISP) experience. Minimum of 10+ years related experience.
