Level 1 Production TechnicianTITLEProduction Technician Level 1 Bakery and Sandwich Making DepartmentsREPORTS TO:Department Manager/Area Leader/Team LeaderMUST BE ABLE TO WORK A DAY TO NIGHT SHIFT ROTATIONPURPOSEResponsible for the safe production and quality of our Uncrustable Sandwichesthrough the operation, maintenance, and sanitation of food production andpackaging equipment. Expectations are to learn all aspects of the operationof the equipment, gain knowledge and build skills to perform at a high levelover time.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Follow all company Safety Rules and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP's). Produce high quality products in a safe and healthful manner. Assigned shift attendance is required: Follow Site Attendance Policy To work in all areas of production and packaging, as assigned, whichincludes operating, being in close proximity to and crossing platforms overor under machinery. Ability to perform the essential functions of the job and perform as amember of a team. Assist fellow team members and other departments as needed. Understands and supports the J.M. Smucker Longmont Safety programpolicies and performs work-related activities in a safe manner. Recognizesunsafe working conditions and suggests new safety standards as appropriate. Ability to perform the operation of the equipment, perform generalmaintenance, preventive maintenance as assigned, and CIP/CIL/COPsanitation operations as required. Ability to operate material handling equipment, sanitationequipment, basic hand tools. Ability to identify visual defects and make corrections as needed. Ability to troubleshoot basic machinery and process issues. Must be able to work flexible work schedules, rotations, hours andovertime as needed. Must be able to follow the J.M. Smucker Basic Beliefs and Code of Conduct. Follows skill progression to improve skill and knowledge, attendstraining sessions and meetings. Completes other tasks as required.QUALIFICATIONSTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform eachduty and responsibility satisfactorily. The employee is required to stand and walk atminimum 90% of the time. The employee must be able to work 12 hour rotating shifts: Day toNight shifts. The employees must occasionally lift/push/pull or carry up to fifty(50) pounds and should be able to lift 30-35 pounds on a frequent basis. The employee must be able to squat or kneel and to bend on a frequentbasis. The employee must be able to work in a cold ( -10 F) Freezerenvironment as needed. The employee must be able to tolerate exposure to flour and yeast,oils and peanut butter as well as other materials. The employee must be able to climb steps on a frequent basis. May be required to enter confined spaces occasionally. Repetitive motion, reaching, handling/feeling frequently- about60-90% of time Hearing protection is required.VISIONEmployee is required to have
