Summary THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 INDEFINITE EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for a SURFACE MAINTENANCE MECHANIC SUPERVISOR, Position Description Number D1296000 and is part of the CO CSMS 07, National Guard. The purpose of this position is to serve as a Full Assistant to a supervisor who has responsibility for providing overall direction and coordination of subordinate work activities and functions. Responsibilities Planning: Provides direct input or participates in meetings and/or conferences with engineering, production control, and other personnel involving the initial analysis of long-range work requirements. Work Direction: Assigns and explains work requirements and operating instructions to subordinate supervisors, sets deadlines, and establishes the sequence of work operations to be followed. Administration: Develops and establishes internal procedures (e.g., meetings, content, and timing of reports) to be followed by subordinate supervisors to assure effective control and direction of work activities, organizations, and personnel supervised. Develops, publishes, and ensures employee compliance with standing operating procedures for the activity supervised. Prepares for and participates in various types of readiness evaluations, inspections, mobilization and command support exercises. Performs other duties as assigned. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Military Grades: W-3 thru O-3 Compatible Military Assignments: 90A, 91A, 92A, or a 25, 88, 94 series MOS Please advise: 1. You will be immediately disqualified if you fail to include specialized experience in your resume. Must have at least 36 months of Specialized Experience in each of the following: 1. Experience diagnosing, repairing, overhauling, and modifying more complex vehicles, equipment, and more complicated systems. 2. Experience which has provided a thorough knowledge of diagnostic equipment. 3. Experience applying independent judgment in determining methods and techniques required to solve unusually complex maintenance and repair problems. 4. Experienced in testing, inspecting, and evaluating the work performed on vehicles, equipment and systems. 5. Experience which demonstrates the ability to plan, direct, and organize work assignments for lower grade personnel. 6. Experience which required the review of work requirements and establish priorities to meet deadlines. 7. Experience that provided knowledge of various lines of work performed by this function. 8. Experience which demonstrates the ability to supervise or the potential to perform such duties as evidenced by the ability to communicate knowledge of general supervisory concepts, and knowledge of shop processes. 9. Experience in adapting existing equipment and techniques to new situations. Education Education cannot be substituted for Specialized Experience for this position. Per ARNG-HRH Policy Memorandum #10-39, mandatory Full Time Staff (FTS) training is required within a year of hire as a condition of employment in vacancy announcements for both Technician and Active Guard Reserve positions. Failure of new FTS personnel to complete NGB prescribed courses at PEC within the first year of employment may be cause for reassignment to other full time positions or termination of their employment. 11. Current COANG Technicians and AGRs hired for a position in which an MCR is required will remain in their current status unless/until the MCR is approved.
