Tracking Code11969-159Job DescriptionThe Maintenance Technician is responsible for the daily maintenance and allmechanical aspects of the Global RandD Center. The Maintenance Technicianassists in the design, fabrication, conversion and installation ofmachines and processes directly related to the launch of new businessobjectives, new manufacturing processes and qualification of new rawmaterials.Job Responsibilities:Assists the RandD Manager with the daily maintenance and building function ofthe Global RandD Center. Building functions to include: Building heating,ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems, facility aircompressors and equipment chill water system.Assists with maintenance and up-keep of RandD pilot line converting equipment.Maintains records of work performed on equipment and corrective action taken.Equipment includes: flexographic printing press, web-fed diecutters/slitters, sheet-fed die cutting and creasing, hydraulicpresses, folding carton gluing equipment.Assists with design, fabrication, conversion, operation, and trainingof others on the safe installation and use of packaging converting equipmentin support of launching new business initiatives.Assists with mechanical process improvement related projects and programs.Maintains function and reliability of building systems, manufacturingequipment and support equipment by performing preventative maintenance; byoperating and testing systems and equipment; restoring, repairing,rebuilding or replacing faulty or inoperative components and parts.Must be capable of working independently.Must be willing to travel to assist with installation and/or troubleshootpackaging machinery.Physical Requirements:Must have the ability to safely and effectively on and around largemanufacturing equipment.Must be able to safely lift 50 lbs. regularly.Position requires frequently walking, standing, kneeling, pushing,pulling, reaching, climbing in and around equipment.Environment also includes working around hazardous chemicals on occasion withthe use of proper protective equipment.Required SkillsQualified candidate will have at a minimum a high school diploma or equivalentGED.Must have a minimum of three (3) years' experience operating,fabricating and maintaining manufacturing equipment used in the packagingconverting industry preferable. This equipment would include: printingpresses, laminators, die cutters/sheeters, folder/gluers and metallizers.Demonstrated experience working successfully with internal and externalcustomers.Preferred experience includes machine shop/machining experience working withtypical machine tools including mills, lathes and other welding equipment.Experience in equipment and facilities maintenance with knowledge ofelectrical/electronic troubleshooting, mechanical repair and building repair.Basic computer skills and data entry experience.Demonstrated knowledge of basic industrial electricity high and low voltageAC/DC.Required ExperienceMust have a minimum of three (3) years' experience operating,fabricating and maintaining manufacturing equipment used in the packagingconverting industry preferable.
