PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:Directly perform buying assignments of varying complexities requiringexperience in assigned commodities and knowledge of purchasing policy andprocedures.Receive requisitions; analyze for quantity, specifications, drawings,and delivery requirements. Develop qualified sources, request pricing anddelivery, competitively select suppliers, document procurement action andplaceFollow-up with suppliers to ensure delivery schedules and key milestones areachieved. Coordinate any changes with Planning and Program Management asappropriate to evaluate impact.Analyze and quickly address any invoice discrepancies.Support proposal efforts with RFP's/RFQ's.Develop alternate sources, ensuring continuity of supply, consistency ofquality, and competitive pricing.Consolidate requirements and utilize the most suitable method of purchasingsuch as purchase order, blanket purchase order or supplier stockingarrangementMaintain purchase order files in audit ready conditionEnter purchase orders into Costpoint and ensure accurate data is maintained inCostpointAdvise management of market conditions and supplier base activity, whichcould affect pricing, and or future availabilityGain familiarity with the end use of assigned commodities, leading to thepossibility of finding alternative materials or sourcesEvaluate suppliers through methods such as supplier visitations and variousobjective performance measurements, including on-time delivery, serviceperformance, and price performancePunctuality to work each day and prepared to work scheduled work hoursDevelop annual objectives in concert with departmental and company goalsGenerate effective communications, good relations, and a positive imagewith suppliers and coworkers, promoting courtesy, objectivity, and fairnessSupport company goals for the utilization of small, small disadvantaged,woman-owned and veteran-owned businessesADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:Punctuality to work each day and prepared to work scheduled work hoursOther duties as assignedCOMPLIANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:Responsible for thoughtful adherence to all SNC Policies, Procedures, andCompliance regulations (internal and external)ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Minimum physical requirements to perform all duties and responsibilities, asdefined by managementSNC job descriptions are meant as summarizations only.
