The ideal candidate will perform set-up, calibration, testing, and troubleshooting of production assemblies and units in accordance with standard protocol..   • Perform set-up, calibration, testing, and troubleshooting of production assemblies and units in accordance with standard protocol.

  • Monitor and correct malfunctions by adjusting or replacing parts as directed.

  • Collaborate with test engineers in developing testing procedures and strategies.

  • May operate programmable auto-testers, real-time oscilloscopes, signal generators, digital meters, spectrum analyzers, frequency counters, and other various test instrumentation and special test fixtures.

  • Plans, lays out, assembles, modifies, validates and maintains test equipment and related structural assemblies by reading and interpreting blueprints, engineering drawings and sketches

  • Assists engineers in operating test equipment to obtain performance data on parts and assemblies under varying operating conditions

  • Collects, compiles and summarizes test data and reviews results with Engineering to resolve problems such as product or equipment issues, malfunctions and incomplete test data

  • Diagnoses test equipment malfunctions and services and repairs equipment as required

Required Education and Experience:

  • Associates Degree required. Experience in lieu of degree may be considered.

  • Minimum of two years’ experience running and troubleshooting electronic test equipment, particularly RF test equipment.

  • Familiarity with Vector Network Analyzers, Spectrum Analyzers, Power Meters and Signal Generators is preferred.

  • Experience operating test chambers for electronic products is a plus.

Required Skills:

  • Knowledge (theoretical or practical understanding of a subject)

  • Electrical Radio Frequency Testing

  • Experience with Electrical/Electronics testing a plus

  • Experience with MIL-STD-810G, ASTM, and ISO testing a plus

  • Experience with CAD software a plus

  • Skills (proficiencies developed through training or experience)

  • Proficiency with one or more of the following types of equipment: Vector Network Analyzers, Spectrum Analyzers, Power Meters and Signal Generators

  • Proficiency with equipment maintenance

  • Proficient with hand tools

  • Proficient with computers

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite with emphasis on Word, Excel, and Outlook

  • Abilities (qualities of being able to do something)

  • Conducts and presents themselves professionally at all times

  • Clearly communicates within the test engineering organization

  • Carefully follow test procedures and instructions provided by test engineers and more experienced test technicians

  • Good technical writing ability

  • Multitasks and makes efficient use of lab resources

  • Adapts in a fast paced, continuously changing environment

  • Is detail oriented

  • Provides great customer service – conveys a “how can I help you?” attitude

  • Great time management

  • Trains in all areas (systems, processes, procedures, equipment, safety, and security)

  • Quickly learns new equipment, processes, and procedures

  • Works collaboratively across functions and levels

  • Clearly communicates progress and status updates

  • Travels to support testing as necessary.

  • Travel may include:

  • Driving to third party test facilities or distribution center

  • Traveling domestically to support product testing at satellite office, third party test facility or customer site (0-10%)
