Boulder Scientific Company Chemical Operator 1 - 3rd Shift Production in Mead, Colorado

We are currently looking for a motivated individual to join our Pilot Plantteam for the position of Chemical Operator 1.The current hours for 3rd shift are 9:45pm - 6:15am, Sunday nightthrough Friday morning. The pay is $22.00/hr plus $2 shift differentialfor 3rd shift.Position Overview:This is an entry level position in our production facility. Local applicantsonly will be considered.The primary responsibility of this position is to follow establishedprocedures to manufacture chemical intermediates and finished products. Theprocedures are set forth in the form of Batch Records and work instructions,but the employee also is guided by what is learned fromday-to-day experience. The position encompasses a variety of duties. Inaddition to operating chemical processes, the employee may perform setup,cleaning of equipment, waste disposal, emergency response, warehouseactivities, maintenance, and clean up activities needed to facilitategeneral operations and regulatory compliance.Essential Duties:To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform eachessential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below arerepresentative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilitiesto perform the essential functions.* Follows established procedures as described by Batch Records, GEN's andWork Instructions to manufacture chemical intermediates and finished products* Follows established procedures as described by SOP's and other operatingprocedures to maintain a safe working environment that complies with safetyand environmental rules and regulations* Uses protective equipment (PPE) as needed to prevent exposure todangerous chemicals* Transfers raw materials, finished products, wastewater, wastesolvents, and other wastes between tanks, drums, and shipping containersusing pumps, pressure and other equipment. Handles solid chemicals aschemical intermediates, products and waste* Labels hazardous waste containers as appropriate to maintain compliance withlabeling regulations and times* Maintains records necessary to record process conditions as defined byprocedures and as required in certain circumstances* Maintains the production area(s) in a clean and orderly condition* Performs yard and building cleanup as needed* Performs shipping, packaging and receiving activities as needed* Assists the Pilot Plant Supervisor in record keeping with daily shiftreport, inventory sheets, tanker logs, etc.* Uses company computer to enter records, and documents* Attends classes as designated to facilitate above knowledge and to maintainrequired updates. (Refer to Training Matrix for comprehensive list)* Handles drums, buckets, and other containers of hazardous andnon-hazardous materials as products or waste. Some but not all of theseactivities including:- Combining partial drums to ensure all waste drums 90% full for shipping- Physical handling (scooping, shoveling, bucketing) wastes as needed- Repackaging wastes for shipment to drum disposal facilities- Cleans drums for shipment to drum disposal facilities- Pumps wastes to tankers as neededRequirementsHigh school diploma or GED;Good mathematical and English reading and writing skills;Ability to follow detailed instruction and strong mechanical aptitude.Must be able to lift 50 pounds regularly and move/pivot 75+ poundsfrequently and be comfortable working in variable weather conditions.Industrial experience helpful but not required.*For Benefits Info and Supervisory Responsibilities please follow job link.We are an equal opportunity employer and value diversity.
