The Maintenance Mechanic III to VI understands and is proficient at all basic tasks regarding basic trouble shooting, repairing and maintaining most/all surface mining equipment used on site, performing these job duties in a safe, efficient, and cost effective manner.

Physical demands: While performing the duties of this position, the incumbent is primarily required to stand, sit, walk, stoop, bend, kneel, drive and operate heavy equipment and trucks.Incumbent may be required to lift items weighing up to 40 pounds.Specific vision abilities include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
Mental demands: While performing the duties of this position, the incumbent is required to read, write, analyze and review data and prepare related reports, exercise judgment and work independently, assist with making decisions concerning equipment maintenance.
Work Environment: Drives cars, trucks, and service trucks.Works near hazardous machinery.Walks on uneven ground, exposed to dust, noise, solvents, and working at heights
