Job Title: Maintenance - GeneralJob Family: FacilitiesDepartment: MaintenanceTypical Work Year: 2,080 HoursFLSA Status: Non-ExemptPay Range: Classified Personnel - Maintenance - Salary SchedulePrepared Date: September 3, 2020Objective:Perform basic to intermediate level repairs and tasks in the areas ofcarpentry, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, HVAAC, electrical andgrounds care.Position Accountabilities:1. Work independently to complete basic and intermediate level repairs andtasks in the areas of Carpentry, Plumbing, Electrical, Mechanical,HVAC (Pneumatic and Digital) and Grounds Care, such as: a. Carpentry: Maintain and repair structural components of Districtfacilities using lumber, drywall, texture, paint and other buildingmaterials. Building and installing shelving. b. Plumbing: rebuild/replace flush valves, faucet rebuilds andrepairs, snake clogged sewer lines. Install and repair urinals, stools,sinks, and water valves. c. Electrical: replace ballasts, walls sockets, plugs, fuses d. Grounds Care: Operate mowers and other equipment, replacesprinkler heads, and operate irrigation system e. Mechanical/HVAC: Maintain and repair pumps and motors associatedwith HVAC systems.2. Respond to emergency calls, determine nature of problem and see that thenecessary repairs are completed. Carry emergency cell phone and respond tooff-hour emergencies.3. Plan, organize and complete all assigned tasks in a timely and efficientmanner.4. Work with, or independently of custodial staff and maintain a positiveworking relationship with all District personnel.5. Operate snow removal equipment.6. Immediately inform the Director of Maintenance of any known situation,which may be hazardous to students, staff or public.7. Install, repair, and maintain all security/locking devices.Repair/replace related door hardware.8. Maintain and repair all the controls associated with HVAC units,refrigeration units, and motor controllers (pneumatic and digital controls).Position Requirements/Skills:MINIMUM EDUCATION OR FORMAL TRAININGHigh school diploma or equivalentMINIMUM EXPERIENCEOne to three years building trades experience in two or more of the followingareas: electrical, carpentry, HVAC, landscaping, plumbing preferredSKILL REQUIREMENTSEffective communicationMay need basic computer skillsGeneral office equipmentGENERAL REQUIREMENTSU.
