Description of Duties:

The Data Center Manager supports the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) on the Integrated Research and Development for Enterprise Solutions (IRES) contract.

The candidate will:

  • Be responsible for the operations, maintenance, and monitoring of the Data Center and supporting infrastructure, including drawings schematics of the center to detail what equipment is installed.

  • Be responsible for oversight and management ensuring compliance with TIA-942 specifications and IT Mission Support Facilities design guidelines and ensuring Operations Management functions are executed IAW established standards and SOPs (backup schedules, authorized maintenance activities, configuration freeze control/Mission Assurance).

  • Operate, monitor, maintain, and respond to abnormal conditions in the facility when infrastructure systems, such as, electrical and mechanical exhibit out of threshold conditions.

  • Prepare plans and documents related to the data center expansion and additions, including rack layouts and elevations.

  • Have administrative duties that include planning for capacity changes, and ensure compliance with government regulations and operation requirements

  • Be assigned as the point of contact for all projects impacting Data Centers.

  • Be responsible for having a general Knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems used in a data center environment, including Feeders, Transformers, Generators, Switchgear, UPS systems, ATS/STS units, PDU/PMM units, Chillers, Air handling units and CRAC units.

  • Be responsible for customer care support and might include escorting personnel through the data center on tours and coordinating with other organizations.

  • Be responsible to mitigate risks of downtime and coordinate with MDA customers to offer support services for data and systems. Data Center Managers will research in order to identify trends in data centers and stay current with future innovation.

  • Maintain the Data Center access control lists; coordinating with management and tenant points of contact in vetting future members, ongoing maintenance by adding and removing current user access.

  • Provide Occupant Emergency Organization (OEO) support for the Data Center and attached work areas through the Block Captain Program. Duties include meetings with Emergency Management, maintenance of personnel rosters, and dissemination of safety information.

  • Adhere to and assist in enforcing Information Technology Services Change, Change management and Asset Management best practices.

Primary duty hours fall between 0800 (MT) and 1700 (MT) with periodic shift work (and on-call) required to assist with after-hours maintenance activities.

This position can be filled at Schriever AFB, Colorado Springs, CO.

This position is expected to pay $67,800 - $94,900 annually; depending on experience, education, and any certifications that are directly related to the position.

This position will be posted for a minimum of 3 days. If a candidate has not been selected at that time, it will continue to be posted until a suitable candidate is selected or the position is closed.

Here’s What You’ll Need:

Basic Requirements:

  • Must have one of the following combinations of education and experience: HS Diploma (or GED) and 3 years of general experience; Associate’s degree and 1 years of general experience; or a Bachelor’s degree or higher.

  • Must have 3 years of experience in an engineering field

  • Must have active DoD Secret Security Clearance

Desired Requirements:

  • Experience using Remedy software preferred

  • Experience supporting a DoD customer

  • Current DoD 8570.01 IAT Level II, or higher, Certification
